The NFL played 14-game regular seasons from 1961 to 1977. The league increased the regular season by two games for the 1978 season.

Roger Staubach's career lasted from 1969 to 1979.

Nope. I responded to the comment made about "rings". Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles won a ring. There are elite quarterbacks who haven't won a ring yet.

With that said, football is a team game. We can't say a quarterback won a ring because of a defense, which implies that it was a team win for one quarterback.... then double back and try to create a narrative that another quarterback didn't win a ring because of him solely.

Its either a team effort or not. Which narrative are we going to go by?

Staubach didnt become full time starter till mid way thru the1971 season. Then missed most of the 1972 season with a shoulder injury. Point being he really only played about 8 full seasons.
