I will always favor QBR over passer rating because simply put there is more to playing the QB position than throwing passes. Passer rating covers about a third of the job.. QBR is ESPN's attempt to assess the other 2/3. Is it perfect? Hell naw.. but IMHO it is far superior to passer rating.. Just because I don't like the names at the top of the list doesn't invalidate it for me.

Why not? I know I do it all the time.. But you are not so dense as to not be able to differentiate between analyzing play and assessing blame right? If I say Dak threw two INTs so he's the reason we lost the game then that's assessing blame.. and pretty inaccurately if one watched the game and saw both INTs bounced off receivers and the defense give up 40 points. We have watched Dak throw the ball EXTREMELY well in games this year and end up with losses. The first Philly game dude was on fire.. but for reasons we've all discussed ad nauseum we came out on the losing end. He delivered strikes in the AZ game.. but his guys fumbled away scoring opportunities.. and we lost. Late in the Chicago game he's driving the offense to cut it to a one score game and the ball ricochets off Pickens' facemask into an INT. Effectively ending any chance we had at winning.

To come to this forum and see people "assessing blame" to Dak for those is simply unconscionable to me. Since I don't believe anybody is that stupid I am left to conclude that they do it just to troll. So every once in a while when someone trolls their ***** back I LOL! But maybe I am giving the DDS crowd too much credit. Maybe they really ARE that stupid.

Dak certainly has been playing well...the eyes and stat chart say it. But he's done things that can by fairly crticized too. There are VERY few people here that blame only Dak.

NO QB is judged by QBR in my book because it's useless. You are free to use ESPN's slop as your benchmark if you wish "sport". I couldn't care less about QBR.

I wouldn't say the window is slammed shut but the organization definitely dropped the ball from 21-23'. Prescott just wasn't at the level he is now and the Amari Cooper trade cost them big time at San Francisco in 2022.

The present NFC is a far more hostile place to do business. I would agree with you if not for the Micah trade. They now have a real chance to quickly bounce back on defense...with the caveat that Revel and Carson become decent starters.

The Cowboys don't have a cap mess. That's nonsense. It's what they would have you believe. It's obscene how the Eagles are structuring contracts these days. NO. They have a lack of will on going all-in for the short-term and then falling back a few years to reload. Jerry Jones (the salesman) doesn't really do rebuilding (it hurts the brand), which is why he's regularly short of the mark and drafting too late in the first round. There's a price to pay for being just competitive enough to dream but not actually have a real plan for a championship. The one thing he's done right is retool the offensive line, which will extend Prescott's career. So it seems they did learn something from the Romo years. By the time they retooled that line Romo's back was jello.

They do have a cap mess. They will push the money down the road and it will cost them in the future. You can look up the numbers.

QBR is just like any other statistical tool ... It doesn't tell the whole story any better than any other tool. It's just one more added to the mix. Still the "I don't like the name at the top of the list so the list can't be valid" arguments carries no weight with me. In the metrics they used Keenum must have been asked to do more to help his team win and did so more often than Tom Brady did. Was he better than Tom Brady? Probably not.. but apparently Nick Foles was since he bested Brady in the Super Bowl right? And as we are told here every day winning is the only thing that matters..

Thats just it, the NFL doesn't use QBR as an official stat.

Then you have to deal with the cap mess down the road. This FO has shown it can't build a team to get to the NFCCG let alone a Superbowl. Sadly, nobody will ever get through to the Dak-only fans on this board, and no civil conversation can take place if you dare critique him. Those who know no bounds are NOT true Cowboys die-hard fans, they are Dak first and the rest of the team second.
