Dak leads NFL in Total QBR

Yeah, and he had a should have been pick on the 2nd drive too. And then almost another on the FG drive where we went up 10. He needs to clean those up.

And guys need to stop fumbling too. We got fortunate late in both the Eagles and Chiefs games.
Can you really clean up picks though being aggressive? Is the alternative Jalen Hurts?

Then they need to adjust their rating system:

Stafford:
3,073/32 TDs/4 INTs

Prescott:
3,261/25 TDs/8 INTs

What in hades are they basing this on?
2000 more yards, that’s like a season
If one guys does something that adds value to his team's chances of winning why would you not count that as a positive? I would not necessarily call it dinging the guy who doesn't do it but it is rewarding the guy who does. The fact that Dak and Mahomes have WAY more plays on which they are judged to have zero impact should be paid attention to. Dak had 60 some more than Stafford and Mahomes has 80 something more. Again these are plays on which the QB is expect to do something to help his team. Hitting a wide open receiver is weighted less than hitting a receiver with a DB hanging all over him. QBR tries to take the whole picture into account not just the raw numbers. So they actually have to watch the games and not the stat sheets. It's far from perfect but I have always thought it did a better job of evaluating QB play than just passer rating.
The mountain guy can’t do it. He just can’t let himself enjoy anything about the Cowboys.

Hmm, I guess this means he's pretty good?

We see the team results when his defense is merely "average" and not "historically awful."

1. Dak
2. Mahomes
3. Love
4. Maye
5. Stafford
No, it is all during garbage time.

However, Mahomes on the other hand, is the GOAT with a D that gives up 18 points a game.

Dak has a better completion percentage, a lower sack percentage, better rushing stats (Dak's aren't terrific by any means, but he does have a couple rushing TDs and some 3rd down conversions, Stafford has done literally nothing rushing), maybe a tougher schedule of defenses faced (not sure?). All those things make it closer than the numbers you posted make it appear...but I don't think it's enough to tip the scales.

Stafford leads in DYAR and DVOA, which factor in all of the above, and I think that's right. By DYAR, the two of them are far ahead of the rest of the league...and Dak has been gaining. So we'll see.

I've also seen the results when Dak gave SF short fields, the defense held strong and we lost. So...ease up on the revisionist history. There are videos with dates on YouTube...

QBR is an freaking ESPN only joke.

But to be fair to Dak, even if you combine pure passer rating with tds- turnovers, Dak ends up in TOP 5 so far this year.

Stafford is way ahead though….as he should be

Hes played well
Stafford has been better, but he was on an historic pace at one stage.
27 TDs without a pick was an NFL record. Had a hiccup last week though

I don't agree with this. QBR takes into account far more variable with regard to QB play than just plain passer rating. Yes throwing the ball is the biggest part of the QB's job.. but it's not the ONLY thing they are asked to do. And some QBs get to hand off a lot more because their defense has held the other team in check while others have to sling it a lot more because the defense stinks. Some QBs get to spend the entire 4th quarter handing off and taking safe throws while others are playing uphill with the pass rush completely ignoring the run and coming after him. Passer rating does not account for that. QBR does. Again it's not perfect.. but I favor more data over less. Especially data that takes the situation into account. Dak has 4 game winning drives in the 4th quarter and OT.. I think Stafford has 1. Think about that for a minute. The MVP favorite has only had to go win the game in the 4th quarter one time.

What makes it a joke?

Dak has been great.

People make up their mind on a player and very few are willing to admit they were wrong when presented with conflicting evidence. Until the day he wins a SB, the Dak haters will continue to hate on him.

Of course you don't

Yes Dak is pretty good.

Now if he could get over the deer-in-headlights-in-playoffs syndrome, he'd be a damn fine QB who might even win us a SB, because I don't really care about individual players past that simple stat(SB).

GO TEAM!!
