Dak leads NFL in Total QBR

there are generally 1-3 plays that Dak can never stop himself from doing.

score 10-6-in FG range 1st down

.
That cross the field lateral to FERGUSON of all people was a killer of any momentum. if he would have thrown it into the stands it would have been 2nd and 10 instead of 2nd and 27. drive resulted in a fumble at mid field on 3rd and 21. Just a KILLER

9-11-1 since signing a contract that still has him the highest paid in the league. And most likely will lead his team to no playoffs the last two seasons. He still only goes as the team goes. He’s never been a difference maker. Great stat padder, 79 rating tonight with the season on the line. But, threw for 374 yards and got those yards.

What year has he been the highest paid?

Today was very similar to a vintage Dak Prescott playoff performance. Slow start, turn the ball over, dig a deep hole and try and come storming back.
Yes, Dak dug a deep hole with his 3 turnovers and all the penalties he committed.

And total salary, too bad it doesn't translate to wins
Dak didn't cost us the game vs the Lions. He and CeeDee were one of the few players who gave their all and played better than the rest of the team against the Lions. Everyone else refused to show up. Everyone else cost this game loss, including these dumb outcoached coaches.

This coming from a long time fan starting from the 80s. This gutless team can't win on the road like the 90's teams could. I knew they'd lose. Unfortunately for you, you'll never see a super bowl team. Jerry needs to be 6 feet under until this can happen. Jommy Johnson won those super bowls, not Jerry. Glad I've seen 3 super bowl wins.
I've seen the same 3 you did, but I didn't have to suffer through the '80s.

Yeah, and he had a should have been pick on the 2nd drive too. And then almost another on the FG drive where we went up 10. He needs to clean those up.

And guys need to stop fumbling too. We got fortunate late in both the Eagles and Chiefs games.
Dak pads stats and looks good on paper but against the better teams he often wilts. It’s less now than it used to be.

My biggest problem with Dak now is that he’s not the risk averse QB that he used to be. If you win the turnover battle you will win most of your games.

That is one of the reasons why the Eagles continue to stack wins in spite of not playing so well. Hurts doesn’t turn the ball over very often.

Then they need to adjust their rating system:

Stafford:
3,073/32 TDs/4 INTs

Prescott:
3,261/25 TDs/8 INTs

What in hades are they basing this on?
Adjusted QBR (Total Quarterback Rating) is an ESPN metric that evaluates a QB's overall performance on a 0-100 scale, adjusting for the strength of opposing defenses faced, game situations (score, time, field position), and separating QB contribution from teammates. It's a comprehensive stat that credits QBs for success in tough spots (e.g., clutch plays, avoiding sacks) and penalizes them for mistakes, aiming to show how much a QB contributes to winning beyond simple stats like completion percentage.

Key components and adjustments:
  • Contextualizes plays: A 5-yard gain on 3rd-and-4 is more valuable than on 3rd-and-14; a TD in the 2nd quarter (tied) is better than late in a blowout.
  • Accounts for difficulty: Adjusts credit based on game leverage (score, time, field position) and opponent strength, giving more credit for success against strong defenses.
  • Includes all contributions: Considers passing, rushing, turnovers, penalties, and even designed runs and scrambles.
  • Divides credit: Allocates credit between the QB and teammates (e.g., receiver, blockers) for each play.
  • Removes "garbage time": Low-leverage plays late in decided games are discounted.

How it works (in simple terms):
  1. Calculate Expected Points Added (EPA) for each play based on game situation.
  2. Adjust EPA for QB contribution, difficulty, and opponent.
  3. Discount "trash time" plays.
  4. Average these adjusted plays to get a value on a 0-100 scale, where 50 is average.
In essence, Adjusted QBR gives a holistic view, showing how much a quarterback truly impacts winning by accounting for the specific challenges and contexts of each play, unlike traditional passer ratings that rely solely on aggregate stats.

Overall yearly average he is the highest paid ever. Even with Josh Allen signing after him.
So you did not answer the question.

You do know how the salary cap works correct?

It's too bad our defense can't pad any stats.

:lmao:

Hmm, I guess this means he's pretty good?

We see the team results when his defense is merely "average" and not "historically awful."

1. Dak
2. Mahomes
3. Love
4. Maye
5. Stafford
I really love Dak. This fan base thinks he's the village idiot, but there are so many teams who would give anything to have a quarterback of his caliber.

With our huge fan base, we have plenty of village idiots.

I did answer it. When looking at a contract it is based on the average yearly cap hit. As some teams front load and some back load. The Cowboys back load. If you only are looking at what a player makes one year and not accounting for the future, you are running a team like the Jones’s. Do you dispute that Dak is the highest paid QB in the league based on his total contract?

What single years was Dak the highest paid QB???

I would have to look at yearly cap hits. Why would you look at it from that perspective? Wouldn’t a make more sense to look at that totality of the contract as I’m assuming you want to keep Dak around? Do you dispute he’s the highest paid QB in the league?
