but you weren't just a TO fan. You were a its all romo's fault guy constantly bashing.

So asking people to be nice to Dak or whatever as if he isn't the golden child is kind of funny.
Correction sir.. Just for clarity... I was a

"It's all Romo, Philips, Garrett, & Parcells faults for not adjusting to what we had in Owens" guy. Romo did not like the flamboyant nature of TO and was downright giddy to see him run out of town. Garrett quietly orchestrated it.

Look, Dak is a YEAR ahead of schedule - at least. That isn't because of the support of an internet message board. That's because of his ability and work ethic. Dak is the least of my worries.
Call it what you will but Fandom is Fandom whether it's on an Internet message board or screaming from the front row in the stadium.

It goes both ways
Who is not supporting Romo? I think only those who didn't like Romo from the beginning would be my guess. They are foolish if you ask me

Dak on the other hand is getting fans from all sides of the aisle and he should (just like Romo should).

Fact of the matter is this - every cowboy should hope that Dak becomes better than Romo just like we would hope Elliot becomes better than Emmett ever was

Was I the only one scratching their head with this post? In one sentence he slams Romo fan's for not "supporting" Dak, and in the next paragraph goes on to slam Romo.

Show me where I slammed Romo. I gave my honest opinion of what I see happening today. I don't consider that a slam in any way. I consider it reality.

You know what I find very interesting... The Romo lovers are seeking every opportunity to criticize Dak. It's so silly and shallow. Pardon my French but I really wish it would stop. This is not a Romo vs Dak thing. This is a Cowboys success thing.

We are watching the future unfold in big D and, for once, the future is bright. Romo is a symbol of fragility in his twilight years. He would be lucky to see three more full games. I, quite honestly, have zero additional faith in him being able to last past three games when he returns. He is incapable of accepting the fact that he's fragile and just needs to work the pocket. His mind is still fixed on his ability to scramble. Meanwhile, defenders aplenty in the NFL are getting faster & faster.

Romo is a train wreck nowadays when the pocket breaks down. His mind tells his body it's still 25 years old and his body reacts like a 55 year old. It's a painfully obvious mix that I'm tired of seeing & that's just me being real.

I wish the best for Romo in his recovery but right now... For the next several weeks... Dak is the guy that deserves nothing less than our unwavering support. He has done and said all of the right things since we took him in the 4th. I'm with him.
I agree that Dak is the future but your views on Romo seem a bit too harsh as he is our best chance to win

the Washington Commanders just got a beatdown on Monday night football and the cowboys are coming to town they will be looking to rebound its going to be a hard game to win at their place with the coaching staff and defense and a rookie qb if the cowboys team don't play any better than they did against the giants it will be another loss.

LOL at this thread.

It's getting pretty embarrassing around here with these people who want to throw Romo under the bus for a shiny new toy.

You must support Dak (who isn't?)! It's not about Tony and Dak (proceeds to have a paragraph disparaging Tony). And then actually using the silly argument that Romo needs to focus on the pocket...where 85% of his injuries have occurred.

It's all part of the whole "I am a better fan than you" thought process that some fans have where if you level any criticism at a player or coach you aren't a real fan.

Maybe you can link a thread where people are rooting against Dak?

I don't see it.
I know I'm very excited about his prospects.

The only major disrespect I see around here are some (maybe a dozen or so) actively being disrespectful of Romo. Even you treaded a little bit into that territory, but not as badly as some.
Several around here get down right nasty about it.

But it seems that we all are pulling for Dak. So I think you're off-base here.

Just curious though...did you ask the entire board to give Weeden unwavering support just because he was the QB at the time?
Your bias is showing through. I happen to share your bias for Dak, but just pointing out that we can't tell anyone they have be all in for any player.

I don't see a lot of people criticizing Dak. What's there to criticize? He's coming in in relief, played well, and exceeded all of our expectations.

Unless you consider the fact that he's not as good a QB as Tony Romo to be criticism, I guess. But he's not, yet.

He also needs to play better.
/QUOTE]

No his teammates to play better. 3 dropped TDs. That should have been a comfortable win for a rookie in his first ever start. He played just fine. Witten,Dez and Cole all dropped key passes. And not to mention TWill's blunder.

Howsa 'bout...

Support Romo 100%. He's the past and present of the franchise.

Support Prescott 100%. He's the future of the franchise.

Or don't. Arguably, both players, Romo and Prescott, are starting NFL quality quarterbacks. The decision of who, when, where, how and why either player shall be named the starting quarterback is completely out of everyone's hands not belonging to Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett. So, anyone, literally, can rah rah boo Romo or rah rah boo Prescott to their heart's content. It doesn't matter one iota before, during and after the urge hits ya.

PS: ...but keep in mind that whenever the urge does take hold, please post your rah rah boos on CowboysZone.com. Your patronage is always welcome. :p
