The doubters are too lame and boring to continue reading

The fact that there are this many doubters after his season is just baffling.

Every team in the NFL would love to have Prescott. He is one of the top, if not the top, young quarterbacks in the league and he is on our team making 700K for the next 3 seasons. Every Cowboy fan should be thanking the football gods.

I have always supported Romo but the reaction to this thread is the exact reason he can't be on this team anymore.

More talking similar to 2015.

4-12 confirmed?

Man do we need back to back winning seasons in the worst way. If we are going to be cured of a culture of loss this will be paramount. Next season will prove we are legit and here to stay. We can continue to build off of that and actually become perennial contenders.

I think Linhand/Wade Wilson is doing a hell of a job

True, regardless of Linehan's cute play calls during our playoff game it can not be ignored what our coaches accomplished this season. Dak was put in a position to succeed, credit not only the team around him but the coaches for bringing him along so well.

Those same coaches had Weeden and Moore as well. I won't knock Cassel because he was asked to do something he shouldn't have been asked to. Dak deserves credit here. This staff out the gate had faith and didn't really give him much of a leash. Crazy for a rookie. Eagirls wouldn't let their leash go.

If Dak cant beat Kellen Moore out im scared. Pretty sure there are board posters with more arm strength than him.

Well that's why I asked who he was referring to because I'm not even sure who the other qb is on the roster after Dak. Unless he's talking about Romo but I consider him good as gone. Not only that but Dak already beat him out of his job.

He said "fair" competition so im assuming hes referring to the fact Romo was hurt so Dak didn't really beat him out. Unfortunately most posters here in the Romo camp don't realize AVAILABILITY is a bigger asset than anything in football.

Cassel was the worst of the three. And you can't expect coaches to make players who lack ability into players with ability. All they can do is improve skills. Measure coaches on their ability to develop skills with players who have talent to begin with.

The quote from Cassel saying he was looking for someone to help him when he arrived and there was no one there is telling though.

IIRC, that wasn't really a quote from Cassell, but rather something an anonymous fan reported John Lynch having said Cassell told him at one point. I looked for the quote from Lynch and couldn't find it, though I'd be interested to see it in context if anyone finds it.

Even then, the fact that the staff was focusing on Weeden at that point isn't really all that surprising. Cassel's problem wasn't necessarily the playbook. He killed us with stupid decisions forcing balls into coverage and on those multiple pick-sixes into isolation on the sidelines. He was awful.
