It’s bad roster management. Zeke is amazing. He is a top 3 rb in the nfl along with Leveon and David Johnson.

But the thing you have to consider is the drop off. There is a legit chance that Alfred Morris, Rod Smith, and Darren McFadden would all be unemployed.

It’s the same ****in story at LT and linebacker.

The lack of drafting success after the first round combined with an inability and unwillingness to do anything in free agency is pathetic.

Look at Jernigan with the eagles. They acquired him just by moving down in the 3rd round and he’s a run stuffing stud. And we have a huge hole there and signed a guy that retired.

You see how bad QB play is around the league. Zeke with a Kellen Moore, McCown, Hoyer, etc. would be garbage too. The coaching staff is a joke and this "scheme" is outdated.

You don't build an offense around a RB like it's the 70's. It's 2017, you need a modern offense built around QBs and multiple receiving threats. Would love to see Dak in an offense built around his complete skillset.

It was the same with Romo too...he tried to make the most out of this outdated Garrett offense but it wasn't enough.

Until we create a scheme or gameplan that doesn't depend on a bellcow RB, it will always be Zeke's team. Just like it was Murray's team in 2014.
Our coach was a player/kid happy to ride the coattails of greatness.

When opponent scores over 30, Cowboys are 0-4.

When they score less than 30, Cowboys are 5-1.

Defense continues to be the problem. It becomes even more apparent when the offense is short-handed and can't put up 30 of their own.

But it starts with the defense. It's not good enough. Hasn't been for years.

Chicken vs the egg. When the offense doesn't score anything the D is on the field forever and end up giving up a ton of yards and points.

The first drive of the second half, Morris had two huge runs and it was Dak that wet the bed.

That awful sideline throw, balls thrown at the feet of WRs in screens...

Nonsense...

Zeke was netting five YPC in first down. Murray wasn’t.. Romo threw close to 40 TDs and less than 10 INTs.

And they hardly ran play-actin while Linehan more than doubled the use of play action by Dak with respect to Romo midway through the season..

Romo was making all the decisions at the line on when to run and pass..

Dak's fine. He's still a nice young QB we lucked into as late in the draft as we found him.

But our offense has to stick to the running game much, much more resiliently. It's not Zeke in particular, it's the running game in general. McFadden walked in off the street as an unwanted free agent and was 4th highest rusher in the league in our offense in a season when our offense was missing Romo and, for half the year, Dez. Morris was an unwanted guy in this league, and he does just fine when we call a bunch of running plays for him.

It doesn't take any magic spell or special elixir. It takes calling running plays in the booth and not audibling into passing plays at the line of scrimmage except in very special circumstances. Do that, and the run game does its job and the offense is so much harder to defend.

Call unnecessary passing plays too often, and bad things happen and our defense spends more time on the field and we fall behind and force ourselves into passing even more. Drives stall, and unnecessary interceptions start to happen. And almost never needs to happen, except for that our team is too enamored with the passing game and too quick to jump on any excuse not to run.

Just run it more. It isn't that hard. And you don't have to have Elliott to do it.

Tony could have won plenty of games without Murray in 2014. Dak can't complete a pass without zeke
so romo didn't have 3 back to back 8 and 8 seasons? We're 5 and 5, which is on par for an 8 and 8 season.

This team is built for an elite run game which includes a back like Zeke and a stud O-line. Take away one of those two(or both) and this offense can't function. Everything has to be perfect for it to hum, see last season or Romo's in 2014 with Murray.

The offense needs a complete overhaul, including the coaches. Beat your man only works when all is right in the world while avoiding injuries and suspensions.

The passing game is a total joke.....
This offense needs to fire on all cylinders just to score points. It's sad really.
Must be fun to be a patriots fan.
