Im setting this thread up as a prediction time capsule rather than a comment thread. The rules of the thread are that everyone is allowed a single post where they answer the two questions below. (Mods - please enforce). No commenting or debate on peoples' predictions - this is simply to record the predictions for review - to see who's right in one or two years time.

Please expand on your prediction - some narrative with detail - rather than single line answers.

Questions:

1. What will the Cowboys do with Dak and how will it work out?

2. What should the Cowboys do and what would likely happen if they did?.

I'll go first below.

Questions:

1. What will the Cowboys do with Dak and how will it work out?

The Cowboys will franchise tag Dak. There will be no trade interest. He will still have lingering after effects of his injury when training camp opens. He'll go on IR or PUP for the start of the season and concentrate on getting back to 100% rather than playing poorly with the after effects. He'll enter free agency without having had to play much and fresh without a seasons wear and tear. Will sign a 2-3 year contract with another team, but will never excel and drift out of the league after a while.

2. What should the Cowboys do and what would likely happen if they did?

Not sign Dak and allow him to leave. Draft a first round QB plus sign a veteran temporary starter. Cowboys would win at least 1 x SB during MMs current tenure with the young QB. Meanwhile Dak will sign a short term deal elsewhere, not play well and drift out of the league after 2-3 years.

Ok I will bite LOL Im going to be optimistic LOL
1. What will the Cowboys do with Dak and how will it work out?
The Cowboys will give in and sign him to a 4 yr $40 million yr contract. Dak will come and be rusty at first but then he will go off in the second half of the season taking us to the NFC championship.

2. What should the Cowboys do and what would likely happen if they did?.
Cowboys will try to be cute tag him then no one offers more then a 4th for him. We draft a QB cut Dak and he will go to a team like the WFT and win the division leaving all of us fans wondering why the Crap just happened.

TBH I think we can win with Dak even after his injury Dak has improved every year He is a hard worker and he will come in and show he is worth the money. If Dak is smart he will sign and allow the team to put more talent around him on defense. Dak knows this cant happen if he handicaps us on the cap. Maybe do something where this year will be a low cap hit and rise up when we get a higher cap ceiling.
Dallas will restructure some contracts to help sign a good defense player to help us out before the draft.

1. What will the Cowboys do with Dak and how will it work out?

Jerry signs him to a 5 year 210 million dollar contract. I'm only predicting this because Jerry usually folds.

2. What should the Cowboys do and what would likely happen if they did?.

Let him walk. Bring in a vet QB and draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd and probably suck for awhile. Better that than going slightly below to slightly above average every year.

1. Dak will play under a 2nd franchise tag.
2. Dallas should let Dak walk so he has a chance to win with a better organization.

1. Jerry will give Dak a 4 year 40m a year contract.
2. Tag and trade if possible and draft a QB.

I think Jerry somehow bungles this royally, we franchise Dak for one more year and he ends up walking in 2022.

Then we’ll start the endless procession of bringing in fringe starting QBs at the tail end of their career’s hoping to “recapture the magic.”

Nothing reported remotely suggests any of that will happen, Nostradamus.

More fantasyland.

You could've just stuck with the usual "I hate Dak and want him gone" schtick rather than go through all of this extra work. It all sounds the same, anyway.

I predict this will be yet another in a long line of Dak related threads that go nowhere but the Pro Dak and Anti Dak re-signing camps arguing over it when none of us have any control of the result.

So wish the Dak drama would get resolved.

They’ll probably tag him again.

They should sign him to a 4 year deal.

Both aren’t great options, but Jerry and Stephen painted themselves into this corner.

Logically, it is self-defeating to first state there should not be any commenting or debate then request other members to expand upon their prediction--in detail. You have instituted a loophole in how other members can voluntarily respond while answering your questions.
