Played a hell of a game. Secured the ball. Made tight throws. Played what was given to him against a top-5 D.

19-3. Last year people were jumping off the ledge after the Minnesota game, let alone the two Giants games. We just tonka-smashed a great D.

A Dez drop and a Butler drop lowered his stats, but his stats were still on par with QBs such as Rodgers, today. Even better.

Yes, the Giants O is pathetic, but our Dak is not playing against the Giants O. It's their $200 mil D he's playing against.

Our O was amazing, all things considered (without getting into how badarse our D was) . But lookout, Dak made no major mistakes tonight, and this was a good D squad we beat.

G'un be a nice season. And Dak is gonna lead the way. These "ledge" threads and "Dak played bad" threads are hogwash. Pure hogwash (without going after their OPs).

I actually thought he managed the game well, but was off with his accuracy. Similar to Romo, it looks like he just had an "off" game, sailing a handful of balls high. Still thought he did well, and of course avoided mistakes.
He was playing a top D. He had better stats than ARodg had against a worse d.

Without looking at the All-22, I'd imagine he faced a very complex D scheme. Much like ARodg faced.

Little accuracy issues can be fixed. The more important point is that he commanded the offense, had no turnovers, and he seemed to always be aware of what was coming from NY's blitz packages....absolutely zero confusion in his game today. That's a big improvement from last season.

Even the best aren't great all the time. Brady had an off game, and Rogers was struggling in the first half of their game today. I'd give Dak a B+ today.

Brady, Rogers and Dak all played top defenses, as you suggest, so that has a lot to do with it.

Oh, no doubt... look no further than Brady's game. Even his 2014 season opener (when he eventually won the SB).

These "ledge posts", I can't even open the thread. No offense to their OP's. No offense to them.

Dak balled today. Dak was Brady-esque. He took what a great D gave him.

And we won, motha ******* 19-3 :)

Not disputing this, but on when he had time, he had a stretch in the 2nd qtr that he missed high on at least 4 throws, possibly more, I would have to check. Maybe defense, excited, whatever. To me, it's more impressive that he can still win and not play near as well as I have seen him play.

And against a team that beat him twice last year.

He would've chewed up other D's. And he will this year.

He played smart football and took what was given to him.

Look at some of the other QB numbers today. Dak had a hell of a game.

Took this from @percyhoward from the other thread

Dak's game would have ranked as the 3rd-best performance against that defense. Only two QB (Cousins and Roethlisberger) had a higher passer rating with more yards vs the Giants than Prescott did tonight.

The high throws in the beginning did infuriate me, but he was solid against the best defense in the league imo.

Well, my man @fishspill
Said Dak looked like he was doing meth with all that profusely perspiration flowing and Wiggy erratic throws in the first quarter,,,,but I thought it was just the crack pipe myself causing it,,, some are calling it ' rust' just trying to be polite,,, while hiding their enabler hats under the tableo_O

B.S. aside ! #4 did have me concerned with the rapid wingers he fired off in the beginning,,, and the " good times/bad times flip-flop love/ hate #19 Butler crew are beyond pathetic in my view,,, dude got blamed cuz he couldn't catch a tweaked out bleacher bench pass, then with the Precision of a German manufactured cuckoo clock he snags a 30-yarder,,,, SHEESE!,,, I truly do love the game threads the best here at the ZONEo_O

He had a decent game. Forcing passes to Dez earlier in the game & a few terrible throws had me a little worried but he settled down & did what was needed to get the win. A little nit-picky but I'll take a Win anyway we can get them.

A lot of people have mentioned sweat, but he sweated a lot last season too. When they showed close ups of his face he was always perspiring. I'll take sweaty wins over dry losses any day.

So much of how you analyze a performance is not all in the stats. Not forcing throws. Getting out of bad plays/pre-snap reads. Staying out of trouble. Not taking unnecessary sacks. Pocket awareness. Not HURTING your team. Watching the game last night, I kept saying... if we don't turn the ball over.. allow the giants D to score or provide short fields for a struggling offense. No way the beat us. This was a disciplined, well coached effort.

Well said but I don't think Dez dropped anything. The last deep shot on the left side I wouldn't constitute as a drop. That would have been spectacular though.

All the quarterbacks don't get enough live reps in training camp and preseason. It's going to take a couple weeks before you see Flawless games. A lot of good quarterbacks didn't look sharp yesterday.
The Romoites are whining, that's a given but we all know Romo would have been laying on his back staring at the ceiling after the first series.
