Dak should receive nearly a fully guaranteed contract if not fully

Dak was a fourth round pick. He never played under center his whole life to my understanding. He said after practice he would practice in his living room how to drop back and take the right steps. That's how he got used to playing under center as a 4th string behind Romo, Moore and Showers. He hardly got any reps but was ready. He has been the same person since day one everyone seems to say which is a great leader. The ONLY time I remember him being or even heard of him being hurt was against Seattle on that 3rd and 14 he ran for . He has played in EVERY game of each of his seasons. He played in that giants game even though we didn't need it. He has played in these preseason games as well. He is as DURABLE as any QB out there. Wentz has missed a bounce of games and got a bunch of guaranteed money. I really feel Dak should get a fully guaranteed deal or close to it. Like say 110 to 115 million for a four year 120 million dollar contract. He is getting better. I really feel the 30 million dollar a year rate is very good but he has to make more guaranteed money than wentz and maybe I'd give him the highest amount of guaranteed money. What do you guys think?
I would have warned you that the Dak haters are going to come at you strong over this. They like to make stupid jokes and really have a personal issue with Dak more so than his ability.

Problem is most of his haters get caught up in average salary per year when it's the guarantee money that you have to look at. I think Dak is worth every penny he gets, regardless of what the Dak hater trolls have to say....... Because they are wrong.

The NFL would HATE me if I were in Dak's shoes (by messing up "The Market"). I say make it really simple:
  • 5 years, $100M FULLY GUARANTEED
It's the GUARANTEED $$$$ that matters the most in almost all of these deals. Dak gets a REAL $100M and the team gets him for $20M a year. It's basically Kurt Cousins' deal with a little more $$$, but spread over 2 additional years. No $30M Cap Hits and flexibility to sign others. Before the Jaylon Deal, Dallas had $74M in Cap Room next year (according to Over-The-Cap), so they have A LOT of flexibility. I, and probably most people, would take that deal in a second.

Kirk freaking Cousins took home a 3 year, 84 mil fully guaranteed contract.

Besides, Mahomes will reset the market next year, so it's not like Dak would be a trendsetter in the other way.

Exactly. I see you quoted me BEFORE I added the Cousins part LOL. But, the bigger point is Dak, like Cousins, gets REAL $$$ while Dallas doesn't have a $40M cap hit looming over their heads.

August 21st 2019 kick-off just around the corner and so far the Millions are nowhere to be found......better be ready Kramer to change that portrait...

P.S. Which you stole from me as the original version had a Garbage bag being portrayed!

What does my profile pic have to do with Dak's contract negotiations?

Unless you have something intelligent to say, best just not speak at all.

I feel Cousins screwed up the all guaranteed market. It was realtively short term, but that average cap hit was big for a fully guaranteed deal.

I just can't see Dak taking 16 million more, but over 2 more years. If anything, it would be a 28-30 mil all guaranteed contract. Which obviously carries a lot of risk for the team.

Dak should take the contract offered to him before he gets hurt or lowers his value this year without Zeke. The 30 mill year average that they offered to him over his base THIS YEAR will be more than a greater offer next year - Really just stupid on his part

Dak's ego could cost him his future !

I am going to use this philosophy on my boss today. I have never been out, complete my work on time, and am good team player but I am at will employer. My boss will probably laugh at me as she tells me to to hit the road.

Great post... I hope you got tough posting skin...you should expect some interesting responses. Some would rather see the Team burn than win with Dak.

Why should even those that support Dak get behind the idea of a fully guaranteed contract? Nobody gets that on a long term deal.

Right, so we can average 19ppg and go 9-7 every year. As opposed to having a real QB and averaging around 30.

So, your spin is that we average 19 ppg with Dak when the Cowboys have never had that low an average in even one of Dak's 3 seasons, and that we will go 9-7 every year even though we have actually averaged almost 11 wins per year since Dak has been the QB.

But truth doesn't matter - only the spin does, right?

In theory, this is great, but I doubt Dak's ego will be able to handle it. Furthermore, this is incredibly risky for the team should Dak get injured or completely flameout (which is entirely possible).
