Agreed.
I take Dak all day, everyday over Wentz, but folks that try to dismiss how Wentz played in 2017 and his contribution to that teams Super Bowl are silly.
The hypocrisy test is simply to think about what if the same thing happened to Dak. Do you think the same folks on here would be okay with discrediting Dak?
If the backup came in and did the same thing Dak did AND won a championship I sure as hell wouldn't be trying to award Dak no damn MVP trophy three years later.. No one is saying that Wentz was not good in 2017. He was tremendous. His QBR was 78.5 which is VERY good.. It's higher than any full season Dak has had.. However Dak's QBR WAS 78.7 in 2020 and because I think he had figured that turnover thing out after a rough couple of games I believe it was going to go higher. 2020 would have been Dak's third season with a QBR above 70... and he was at 69.9 in 2017.. The fact remains that in 2017 Wentz was leading a loaded team with the #4 scoring defense having his back. That defense also generated over 31 turnovers for him.. The Cowboys defense has never forced more than 21 turnovers in a season Dak has played in and failed to hit 20 in 2018 and 2019. They only forced 15 in 2019. Less than half what the Philly defense did for Wentz in 2017. You know the year he was the MVP.
