Being told where to throw the ball sounds like something that might happen to a rookie.

He is being told to make the reads, he is looking guys off and coming back to them. He is finding the open man. Coach can't tell him which guy is going to be open he has to be able to make reads and make the throw and do this under pressure. Guys sitting at home act as if this is so easy, put down the madden controls because what he is asked to do is not easy and happens quickly. I love critics they can say how it should be done and yet are unable to do what Dak is being asked to do.

They came close to beating us. They could have easily won that game. With Wentz in that limited offense. I see your point, but the fact remains.

Agree they came close, and it wasn't Daks best game, but I strongly believe we where teams down with this o line and Zeke ...

Saying a QB is not performing because of the O-line is one of the worst excuses I ever heard in my NFL watching life

You're nuts. That line blows.

It was a good-to-very-good line with Johnson in there. Peters and Brooks are good. Barbre is solid. Ours is obviously much better, but it's not like Wentz hasn't had time to throw this season.

Yep. To say the Philly Oline is crap is a comment from someone who doesn't understand the game. You forget to mention Jason Kelce who's one of the top centers in the league.

Go back and look at how much of his early season success was due to his defense and ST giving him great field possession on the regular. Dak has his guys, Wentz had that.

Given opportunities, Wentz simply has not been able to lead his team down the field for wins. He was given a short field Sunday after his defense forced a late turnover in Giants territory. Couldn't do it. Couldn't it do it the week before vs Dallas against a weaker defense than Dak tore up his final two drives of the game. Couldn't do it vs. Washington. Couldn't do it vs. Detroit. He hasn't been able to make the throws.

Kelce has had a rough season. He's been getting exposed for his lack of size/strength. But again, it's not like he's been heavily pressured every game.

Air Yards/Attempt
minimum 1,000 yards passing
1 Ryan 5.16
2 Prescott 5.05
3 Mariota 4.87
4 Brady 4.86
5 Luck 4.78

23 Wentz 3.92

Those are some very interesting stats Percy. I knew Dak looked efficient but I didn't expect his passes to be as long as they are in the air compared to the elite QBs. Thanks for posting that stat. It makes Dak look even more dominant.

lol you have no idea what you're talking about Phillys line is rated in the top half of the NFL
Right now they are starting backups at RT and LG, and have a center who gets blown up on passing plays, leaving Wentz no pocket to step into. Their line is probably around 20-22 in the league.

For clarification, the high ranking in air yards per attempt doesn't necessarily mean his passes are among the deepest. It's more a measure of distance and accuracy, which I think is more valuable than knowing the depth of his average attempt, whether complete or not.

The Commanders beat the crap out of him. They hey the ball out of his hand as fast as possible.

Found these great charts someone came up with on btb.com (http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2016...rescott-one-qb-has-a-bright-future-with-their)

What you see below is passing "spray" chart of all the passes & incompletions thrown by Carson Wentz in last week's Eagles game against the Cowboys.

As you can see by the sheer number of throws he makes behind the LOS, Wentz' passing numbers are inflated by these low-risk, short throws (ie. screens).

Meanwhile, despite Dak's relatively poor game last week, you can see by the chart (below) that he's making big-boy NFL throws.

Not unusual in an Andy Reid driven scheme. And being a play it safe, don't turn the ball over cuz we got a good defense rookie in that scheme.

Good stuff.

Go be an Eagles fan already. I've never seen fans make so many excuses for a division rival. Wow. I wonder if Mcnabb got these excuses when his top wr was James Thrash.
