Watching him run today, you can tell his calf isn't 100 percent. He was running like an old man. I believe he might have reaggravated it.
I had the same injury, and it could feel great one week and then feel like I got stabbed in the calf the next. I doubt it will be 100% until after the season.

That fair, but it isn't like he a rookie. There a large sample size of Dak's performance. Eventually he was going to regress back to the mean, I just calculated that into my evaluation ahead of time.

Your evaluation of him is as bad as it gets. I can’t think of a QB in the league that was playing any better than he was the first 7 games of the season. Right now he’s struggling. I’ve seen enough of him to know this isn’t what he is, he’s in a slump. He’s got 4 games to come out of it.

Earlier in the season, I had Dak as the #14 QB, and I was being dumped on for ranking him so low. Some had Dak as top 5 or *MVP, while majority had Dak in the top 10. Turn out, all of us were being too generous. Dak is in the bottom 1/3 of all QBs.

I had folks on here say that if Dak was on the Lions, they would win more games than with Goff currently. Dak can't even do well even with a stack offense. Goff with no receivers and 49% of the roster being out (covid/flu) is doing better than Dak with a healthy squad. Let never talk about Dak being better than Goff or Wince ever again please.

I also seem to remember that some folks on here mentioned that Dak was better than Herbert as well.

Post title is unfortunitely right on. I counted 4 balls that should have been picked. That screen to Zeke over the middle with about 5 minutes left in the half. Dak just chucked it into a pile of WFT jerseys.

Dak played bad today.

Dak is bizarre. He’ll make these elite QB throws — thread the needle or drop a long throw right in between two defenders. Then he’ll make a turd of a throw right to the defender to run back as a pick six or sail one six feet over the head of his receiver into the arms of a safety, and you’re like WTH?

So if you can make those former throws, then find out how and why you’re doing it, then keep doing it.

I’m a big Dak fan. But something has been off since the calf injury regarding the entire offense.

Im not going to try and simplify it to any one thing or think that I am such an expert that I know the answer even though I’m not privy to any number of variables going on from week to week with the team.

what is obvious is the offense has been struggling on 3rd downs and having a lot of 3 and outs.

Dak needs to play better. But we have seen him play better so we know there is potential there.
Offensive coaches need to do better to correct what is ailing and minimize mistakes.
O line could play better but I don’t think we will see much change there as it looks like when there are problems it is because they are getting beat physically more than making a series of mental mistakes.
Running game could be better but both backs are ailing and running lanes are not always there due to O Line not getting the push.
So hopefully the passing game picks up with a complimentary run game doing enough to keep defenses honest. I wouldn’t hope or expect more than that this year.

Dak will not be here for a decade

They barely wanted to pay him this time, and now he doesnt have the “coaching” or “no defense” excuse
And this is only the start......don't be surprised if Dak will be the most expensive bench-sitting QB ever in the NFL at some point.

It wasn't just Dak, our O-line was down as well.

Yet the Cowboys were 6-1 before the o-line issues began this season, but this time Dak is the problem?

Listen, I'm keeping it real. Dak's game today cannot be excused. He played like hot garbage and could have had four picks instead of two. But I think his issues are correctable. They have to be, or else this team is one and done in the playoffs.

I'm less concerned about where Dak sits inside or outside of any arbitrary top ten list and more interested in figuring out how the Cowboys can get him back to his week 1-7 form. Love him or hate him, Dak is our quarterback.

Tampa Bay may have been his best game ever in this regard. But TB plays lots of man. San Diego played almost exclusively zone and Dak’s weaknesses really get exposed in this regard, especially now that the RG isn’t playing at an elite level. Checking into the run isn’t going to guarantee you the yardage like it used too. So Dak now has to process the field and try and find holes in the zone. And he’s really risk averse in this regard and just goes to his check-down.
I agree. It was like he had an outer body experience during the Tampa game. The last time he played that well was against the Vikings imo (another loss but he played as well as he can play to his credit)

He's definitely not playing his best of late, but the suggestion that over 20 QBs are better than Dak is absurd.

Herbert is something different.

He’s Matt Stafford with Pat Mahomes athleticism. Maybe a better athlete than Mahomes.

You are joking right?? Seriously catch 17 youre serious? A better Athlete than Mahomes ?

You are either drunk, insane or just a Herbert nuttrider.

Mahomes is a top notch athlete. His baseball Career comes to mind. Just plain old athleticism it ain't close

and don't even talk about QB skills. Herbert ain't done ish yet . A promising young QB ? ok better anything than Mahomes,,, GTFOH

Mahomes has Reid, Smith, Hill, and Kelce while Herbert has Lynn, Lombardi, Allen, and Williams. See the difference?

Your post seems to be an exercise in self flatulence….
Pretty sure you were quiet about this first five weeks of the season when Dak was playing at MVP level. Now that he’s playing through injuries, offense is out of sync, running game sucks, and Dak is struggling and here you are talking like you knew all along.

It only absurd to you because he on a stack team where his deficiency can be hidden. Put him on the Lions, and they don't win a single game. Put him on the Jaguars and no one will even notice him. But the Cowboys are the most stack team in the league just like when Jimmy G on the 2019 49ers.

This is not a QB we can win a SB with. The time to move on was this offseason.

Mac Jones wouldve looked good with a Star on his helmet
And miss out on Micah?

We're 9-4.

Team game.

We won today.

Beat the Giants, we earn a playoff spot.

This with Zeke, Pollard, Smith hobbling.

The most important thing, we won.

Defenses learned that Dak always pre-reads. He has a canned response for every scenario and freaks out when he's wrong. Defenses are disguising their play

I wish we had the answers. It’s so perplexing. It truly is. He looked so so so great to begin the season, and now this drastic downhill slide. I wouldn’t think a calf injury could make him forget how to set his feet and read defenses. Whatever the reason, it’s very concerning

it's just guess work and speculation on our part. .. but when dating back we're going str8 to the calf injury date ..
Mentality we can never know how much is affecting him physically .. or how it plays into him physically. we do know both ties into one another.

- just as Dak does not look to play josh allen up field as a rusher ... he plays it smartly as a scrambler in sliding or going out of bounds on sidelines .- and that's based
off what he is and still recovering from per his gruesome ankle injury.

- But the fundamentals, the decision making and way off throwing mechanics has been really baffling ..and even the coaches cannot figure out why and how to iron out the kinks.

- he's making Tony Romo like killer INTs decisions ..that he progressed from 3-4 years back; ...and we cannot win playing that style along ball

Everyone forgets that! Without Atlanta game we woulda been 1-4!

Yup and people keep giving Dak his Calf injury excuse but he had no problem beating up the useless Falcons. And how does a calf injury prevent him from making decision?
