Dak will retire with 0 Super Bowl rings

@Cowboys5217
Many Franchise QB’s ( not elite) are paid Market Price and over valued which is unfortunately part of the Cap default.

Prescott like many other Franchise QB’s ( not elite) is considered by most enough to resign and attempt to build around.

There’s really two types of teams in the NFL. Ones trying to build around a Franchise QB and those looking for one. Look how teams like Buffalo and Baltimore have even struggled getting to a SB with notably greater QB’s. There are other examples. Not everyone can have a Mahomes.

While we wish we could have landed a better Franchise QB we certainly could argue building a better team consistently around ours while hiring greater coaching staffs, front offices, etc could have gone along way.

We can’t ever forget there’s been one constant throughout this era regardless who we’ve had at QB that’s undermined our coaching staff and prevented attracting greater coaches while bundling drafts and contract negotiations, trades, etc.

I’m not sure how any criticism of the Cowboys can’t begin and end with Jethro Jone$ who I’d argue has been the greatest obstacle for Cowboys Football to overcome . And will continue to be so.

Well on the positive side if they keep the team together and have a good FA and draft he should have about a 2 year window...26 and 27 are the two years, after that its going to be anyone's guess

Yes, Staubach and Aikmans team won SB's. You are correct.
Merideth and Morton were good enough QB’s to win a SB. Danny White probably was too.

Sometimes you just come up short and others you are beat by better teams and QB’s.

In both of our glory eras with Staubach and Aikman we can’t forget those teams were dominating with Doomsday Defenses.

Our biggest issue IMO is our idiot owner thinks Prescott is Elite enough to carry this team without a great defense .

And he obviously isn’t . This year is a great example of that. But there have been others.

And our owners emphasis is often trying to prop up our offense to make Prescott look better instead of beefing up defense.

And after that we should be looking to draft our next Franchise QB.

I’m sure everyone has a lot of confidence our brilliant owner will hit big:)

Unfortunately JJ doesn’t know how to put a complete team together

32 and ten seasons as our starter with no rings to show for it.

What a total waste of a decade this has been. I’ve been saying it since 2019 and haven’t been proved wrong yet. Dak has flashes and admittedly can have a good game but having a good game isn’t enough in this league. He’s not a terrible qb but he’s not good enough to get us over the hump. He’s not good enough to will his team to victory. He’s good enough to keep you semi relevant but that’s it. Dak Cousins ladies and gents
Then, when it's all said and done.........I guess we should hail Dak like our previous ringless heroes. That would be fair.........wouldn't it? Antonio has gotten love.

Danny White was underrated. Great QB, had it not been for the SF game he would have gotten one for sure. Pearson almost broke that open near the end.

Also, had Jackie Smith caught that ball, Roger would probably have three rings.

Jerry is the only constant in the equation, spanning three decades of playoff irrelevancy that supersedes any QB, player, or head coach and Jerry has had total and complete control of every decision made. Romo, Dak, insert future Cowboys QB here and the end result is exactly the same: win a wild card game once every 5-7 years & never win consecutive playoff games.

Why? Romo and Dak are easily good enough to win a Super Bowl, but they lack the following key elements.
  1. A real NFL GM with a winning track record. We all know Jimmy had the final say in building the dynasty roster that won three Lombardi’s.
  2. Jerry is incapable of building a championship caliber defense, after 30 years of trying. Parcels built one that was pretty close, but we couldn’t win when it really mattered.
  3. Blinding sun for afternoon home games, squandering large chunks of salary cap dollars by negotiating in September, hiring a head coach and greatly limiting his power, etc. And Jerry is the king of creating drama and constant distractions.
  4. 31 other teams can fire their GM. Our GM is accountable to no one.
Remember we are winning games because of Dak (Romo’ years too), not in spite of Dak. Jerry is the root cause of our 30 year drought and even a third grader knows it. Dak is part of the solution but it’s Jerry who has made this three decade mess and there’s zero signs he will ever change.

Dak pissed away any chance to win a superbowl WITH HIS HUGE CONTRACT , AND HUGE CAP HIT .

Just blaming Prescott is either just trolling or very poor evaluation of all of the Cowboys issues .

Sure, we all wish we had a greater QB. But there are many other factors which contribute to our lack of success this era.

The idiocy of Jerry to give Dak the biggest contract . That ended our chances .

Average QB., HUGE cap hit .

Dak is average , he needs a PROBOWL team around him on offense AND DEFENSE.

WITH HIS CONTRACT , THE CAP HIT , it cant be done .

It certainly was a poor evaluation.

Paying Franchise QB’s market price is unfortunately part f doing business in NFL but paying Prescott top money probably was aided by Jethro’s attempt to hype him as Elite.
