Dak/Zeke Dynamic is Trashed

I think the hold out in year 3 is not cool and the FO has to be careful that if they cave or appear to that other talent will consider doing it also. What happens in year 3 of LVE contract. He will put play his rookie deal. It’s the FO option to extend in year 3, not the other way around. I am sure a player can request it but to hold out is not acceptable to me. Never heard of another player doing this in year 3. Elliot maybe a special player but not like that.

Zeke is in year 4 not year 3

I think Elliott has flushed the chemistry the two have right down the toilet.

Elliott's holdout is an insult to Prescott's leadership role on the team. Elliott is banking on his friend's failure to win games without him in the backfield.

If Dak fails and Zeke is paid, Dak's contract suffers as a result.

There's no other way to look at it. If I'm Dak and Elliott does not return by wk 1 and the Cowboys get off to a hot start without him- I demand him dealt before I ink my extension.

Everyone here should be prepared for this probable outcome should Zeke not report before the NYG game.

Personally, I think we've seen Elliott play his last game at a Cowboy. I'd say "sadly", because he is a HOF talent, but I'm already over it.

Hes a drunken clown. Nothing leader about him. His ability to run the football is his only redeeming quality he has.

He is an incredible talent. So use that value to trade him while he is young. Let someone else deal with him.

Emmitts hold out didn’t bother Troy or affect their chemistry.
Players know it’s a business.
Zeke can’t afford to miss games and hold out. He is stuck if Jerry plays hardball.
Zeke needs to accrue one more season before he can really demand a bigger new contract.
Sitting this year and he’s in the same situation next year still needing one more year.
If both Zeke and Jerry play hardball, Zeke loses in one of many ways, but Zeke loses every time.
If Zeke holds out, Jerry doesn’t budge, Zeke sits a year and we do it again with Zeke having zero more leverage, actually less bc now he’s infuriated everyone and not played in a year.
Zekes only hope is to play on Jerry’s good graces, which I think he is testing.
No one thinks Zeke is as indispensable to our team more than I do, but no way I’m paying him as much as he wants without getting some serious concessions in return. I’d make the contract no more than five years with very little dead money at the end so cutting him if his shelf life expires in four...we move on without cost.
My prediction is that Zeke signs and plays week 1, he will only lose big otherwise.
Once he’s taking handoffs, he and Dak will be fine.
Different era of football. Plus Aikman played under JJ who can actually coach.
1. Dak n Zeke talk daily (per Dak), so I think their relationship is very good.

2. Zeke's holdout is independent of Dak in every way from their standpoint. Stephen Jones may see a link cause he has to pay, but that's not the players problem.

3. Dak n Zeke have 3 years and part of this offseason working together...their chemistry is fine.

So you say Zeke is a HOF talent, but you want to trade...interesting stance. Sounds like your emotional and all over the place...just relax and enjoy the preseason game cause the business side of football seems to be getting the best of you.

Those phone calls are going to be interesting.

"Hey man, I hope you ball out, but if you throw 3 picks and Pollard goes for 38 yards on 11 carries- that's even better."

Zeke may holdout into the season but that's not gonna stop the team from moving forward without him. This will actually let the coaches see how some of these other RBs perform.

This is what I'm thinking. But he holds THIS season hostage. He must play if we are going to win big. Another lost season with Ezekiel's signature on it. Seems like most are good with that.

Yep, and again, management is ill prepared for life without Zeke.

Really? Unless you're a close friend or family member, you have absolutely no idea how this has or will impact their relationship. If it even has.
