Maybe I'm looking at this wrong but Dallas is not too 5 in red zone tds from 2006-2016.
Red zone TD% is the percentage of drives that reach the red zone that result in touchdowns.

So all but four of the teams ahead of Dallas in red zone TD reached the red zone more often than we did, but weren't as good as the Cowboys at converting those possessions into touchdowns.

Click on the heading of the column labeled "Pct" (under "TD"), and you'll see that we rank 5th.

I appreciate what PFF tried to do here to give Dak some kudos....I just get stuck on a couple of their points.

1)Simple offense....really? Is this more simple than throwing 16 passes 2 yards or under like Wentz did last week?
2) The play they diagrammed as being his best...it was a great play....but look at what they say, "Prescott processes quickly and eliminates Witten as a first option, getting to his second read, Dez Bryant, on a crosser, only to see the WR bottled up by the cover-1 hole player with his man in trail position. " How can we take this site seriously when they spin an obvious wide open Dez Bryant with a CB 2 yards behind him then watch the MLB completely obliterate and PI Dez in that statement is beyond me. Take a look...

Again, I do appreciate them trying to give him credit.

Holy hell how is that not called?

Dak showed he can throw the deep ball, so far his recievers have dropped them or like Butler case PI that wasn't called. He is a rookie and not perfect but he will improve
I want to play him against San Fran, but im worried. lol

According to me counting each pass from Sunday. I just counted to where the ball travelled in the air. I have the whole game charted from him....if interested, I can post tomorrow.

You're right, I just watched every throw of his against the Steelers. He threw a ton of quick screens and checkdowns.

Well, Pederson is from the Andy Reid coaching tree. I don't think it's surprising that their offensive focus is on short passing with the occasional deep shot.

I think the point is it's inflating his completion percentage a bit. That said, he's made some really nice throws and has played very well overall.

I'm sure it is, but I don't think accuracy is ever going to be an issue for Wentz from what I've seen. The issue, I figured, was going to be the step up from college and I think their offense has made that transition pretty smooth so far. He also takes some pretty hellacious hits. I think that could come back to bite him.

I do think Dak is having more heaped on his plate than Wentz is at the moment though and he's passing with flying colors.

Like I said, from the link he sent Dallas was not top 5 in red zone touchdowns. He's free to come in here and correct me

lol, it all makes sense now. if you make other people find the stats for you, you can't mess up something as simple as reading stats.

His red zone passing is the only area I would like to see real improvement. Tony can throw red zone TD's even when the defense knows what is coming, I think Dak can get there especially considering the threat of running the ball that he has that Tony doesn't. I would like to see them roll him out more in the red zone to freeze dB's and lb's in coverage. There are things Dak can do that we haven't had in a qb since Quincy.

Give me a break. Dak has been running it in. No need to throw it when you can run it yourself. When was the last time Romo ran one in? We have also been running it in quite nicely with the backs. Dont you worry Dak will throw plenty of TD passes.

Agreed. In addition to that, he has come inside 5 yards or less many times, only to have the receiver get stopped just short of the goal line. As adept as Dak is at connecting with his receivers, there'll be no problems for him to get points scored, whether they reach the end zone on the first try or not. With some posters, it's like it doesn't count for anything if he gets the team solidly in position to score. We'll end up scoring far more often than not, either way.

Talk on the internet like you would talk to someone face to face tough guy. You're probably a 45 year old virgin with a beer belly and acne. Sit your *** down somewhere
