I don't understand how anyone can not believe in this guy. He has the brains and work ethic to be as good as anyone. Our QB has a Masters in Workforce Leadership!

I am still dumbfounded he fell in the draft the way he did. It doesn't make sense that he fell as a QB with so much success in college and a host of positive traits. His success will probably change the way scouts look at players from here on out.

Risen thought he'd end up being a Rough-rider.

Weak arm. Long motion. Inaccurate in college. Only worked from the spread.

But Montana had a weak arm, too, which is why he went later.

Leadership off the charts in Dak.

I have no idea where you get this "inaccurate" stuff from... His senior year he completed 66% of his passes. And that was with what many people thought was sub-par talent at WR and a terrible offensive line.

Yeah it just seems that scouts have become too picky with QBs in general. If they don't check all the boxes, they fall dramatically in the draft. We seen it happen to Bridgewater a few years ago, to a lesser extent.

Wentz, but more so Goff checked all the right boxes of being a pro QB so they went 1-2. It seems like scouts are almost looking for a prototype than a football player.

Yeah, love this kid. He has been taking time off from training over here on the east coast of Florida doing some fishing with his crew. Looking forward to big things again this year. He spoiled us last year.

Gotta love this guy. I am as big of a fan of Romo as anyone, but he played golf most offseasons and his physical work left a little something to be desired.

This is silly. Romo worked every offseason to improve. Golf did not interfere with that. He did it as a hobby.

I assume you believe that Prescott spends every waking moment on football and has no hobbies.

Work ethic will never be a problem with Dak. That's supremely important.

Probably the single most important trait for a QB besides brains.

I don't believe Peyton or Brady are even top 10 all time as far as physical talent. Their success can be more contributed to their work ethic and drive to be the best at their craft.

I eat fast food hamburgers often and I have all my abs. You don't have to stay away from that stuff if you exercise enough.

But my metabolism is like a runaway train.

Romo dropped golf because he thought it was interfering. Maybe he just believed the perception was a distraction but I remember him making a similar statement, it's the same reason he dumped Jessica Simpson.

The OP is probably referring to the physical side though. I'm sure Romo worked hard watching tape and tinkering with his throwing motion in the offseason but he didn't seem to take the weight room or his workout/diet routine as seriously as Dak or Brady does. I am not comparing Brady to Dak, I am only bringing him up is because Brady looked like a scrawny kid similar to Romo when he came out, today Brady looks like a physical specimen and I sure that has a lot to do with him staying healthy and still playing his best football.

Some scouts can't seem to believe his best traits are being smart, working hard, and having great leadership skills.

Gee, wonder why.

I agree that Romo has never been a chiseled physical specimen. His concentration has always been on improving as a passer. Golf has never interfered with that goal. He gave it up because of his health.

“You’ve got to get yourself healthy then figure out where you’re at and go from there for everything,’’ Romo told the paper. “It’s not just golf. It’s a way you live life.

“I don’t think about it as [giving up] golf. It’s just life. You want to give yourself the best chance to succeed on the football field.’’

True.

I've heard Romo is hooked on Girl Scout Cookies.
