Dak's Contract Situation, current or future **merged**

I think Dak will play well enough to get an extension. You can win with Dak if he can play like he did Sunday.

I doubt Dallas will let Dak walk. If he plays within himself and continue to progress we would be fools. Dak level of play will dictate his level pay.

who else you got in mind he should be put on year to year contracts - he is not taking us anywhere wait untiL he as a bad year then draft a good QB

Is Dak Prescott just a placeholder for a pure pocket passer?

Even after three years in the league, accuracy issues and questionable field vision continue to plague Prescott. In fact, those issues may be getting worse as he continues to trend in the wrong direction.

Prescott tends to leave big plays on the table in favor of more conservative options or simply failing to see wide open receivers. And when he does recognize a big play opportunity, there’s a 50/50 chance he’s able to even compete the pass due to his continued bouts of inaccuracy.

And despite the team finding success in Week Two by utilizing Prescott as a running threat, Dallas is using this season to determine if they should make a long term investment in Dak. And the shelf life for running quarterbacks in the NFL is historically very short.

Dak hasn't been in the league 3 years. 2 years and 2 games. And unless this great pocket passer is found and plays better, then yah he will get a contract in two years.

Dak will do enough to sell him. There’s already built in excuses with our recievers, OL and play calling.

Someone will be the scapegoat. Like Linehan. We’ll focus on WR , OL and TE in draft .

And sign Dak to a smaller contract like 3 years 50 million similar to Bortyles which won’t recieve as much criticism nor prevent us from attempting to surround him with more support.

For better or worse this is our future for several more years.
in that case good luck seeing this cowboys wining anything for many years to come

Way to early to even think about it. This year will determin a lot of questions about Dak

I like Dak but I just dont think he is that good. With this defense and running game the Cowboys could pay Tyrod Taylor to do what Dak does and he might even do better. But if this team wants to win anything the real answer lies in either pony up and pay a guy like Cousins or draft an elite QB but in no way do you saddle yourself to Dak for 4-5 years at 100 mil.

What timing to ask such a question. Perhaps an agenda is being served by asking that question at this time. I'm not revealing breaking news by saying Dak was subpar week 1 and a little improved week 2 but still needing to do better. Stay out of the man's pocket and let the process play out.

No way shape or form should Dak get an extension unless he drastically changes this season. I don't see that happening.

If Jerry and Stephen want him then he’ll get paid. If that happens hopefully it’s not one of the huge deals these guys are getting now.

? It will be a rare week when we get to play against an offense as inept and dysfunctional as the NYG. Dak passed for 95 yards in the final 58 minutes of the game. Thats not going to get us far.

I bet Dak gets a smaller contract offer like a 3 year, 50 million but who knows if he accepts that. If he is offered mega money, they’re truly out of their minds. If he’s offered a large contract, it’ll sink the team.

If he gets the big $ contract long term it will extend the mediocrity of this team for the length of the contract. I believe the contract hinges on the record and if the play offs are reached. I believe Dak future and Jason's are tied at the hip. If Jerry dumps Jason he will not extend Dak if this season is a disaster and let Dak play one more season for a new HC before he sign's him. Just remember with JJ you never know, he truly believes Dak is great and a a elite QB so anything is possible. As long as Dak is the QB this Team will be average at best. The article was interesting thanks for bringing it to our attention.
