Dak's Injury?

I'm surprised no one seems to be talking about it affecting his game.

Dak played soooo bad that I cant believe that, thats the result of missing a couple of weeks - no way.

IMO I think he's afraid to push off that calf - his body language tells me he's tentative - you can see it in some of his throws.

Would love to know if he went "full speed" in practice and how he looked cause if he looked anything like he did today - they should have held him out one more week.
Yep

And definitely should have pulled him at 30-0.

But he was under pressure all day. Putting pressure on QB always disrupts. Denver may have provided a blue print.

  1. I think he looked tentative.
  2. I also noticed that Cooper and Lamb looked slow compared to normal. They slowed down on routes and defenders were uncharacteristically jumping routes.
  3. The O-line was collapsing quickly.
  4. The timing was off from a combination of of all three items listed.
  5. The line was not creating running lanes.
  6. Zeke looked hobbled.
  7. Diggs looked like he was playing slower.
  8. Dak also used garbage time to work on timing. Moore, Dak and Big Mike will have this fixed.
  9. There is plenty of game tape for each player to watch to see where they can improve. This should be a humbling defeat for a team that was soaring among the top teams in the NFL.
  10. Go Dallas!!! Also, my fingers are crossed for Tyron to be a full go.
...so...basically everyone looked slow. Got it.

No excuses for the coaching staff or players. This was a collaboration of taking the Broncos lightly and they were thoroughly embarrassed. You can blame Dak all you want; he was just a part of the catastrophe.

Why is it so hard for some to admit that Dak sucked this game?

It isn’t. He DID suck. The thing is, the whole team sucked, which I find kind of odd. So we ask why, and then, are they excuses or viable reasons? There are many possibilities, and IMHO it’s some sort of combination of the following:
1)Dak was rusty and tentative.
2)Cooper and Lamb had uncharacteristic drops on the same day.
3)Denver is better than people thought, and they had a good game plan. They were tired of hearing how they had no chance.
4)I’m guessing many of our players assumed it was going to be easier.
5)The absence of Tyron Smith was obvious.
6)These and other variables combined, enabling a trend of futility, which then snowballed. The “any given Sunday” mantra is genuine, and people need to remember—we’ve had trap games every year. One of our SB years we got spanked by St.Louis AND Washington.

I’m not gonna use that word that sets some people off, but consider this…the ABD’s that were starting to lose interest because the team they despise most was starting to appear dominant, are now perking up. More eye$ on TV’$! Just sayin’.

Cmon now - I'm no Dak "lover" or "hater" but the guy has been ballin this year - the guy has grown as a QB and has a nice command of the offense. But we all have our opinions and this why there are forums.

He has been ballin. And he is a great feel good comback story. Still he hasnt shown anything that makes him above average to me. And it showed today.

That has nothing to do with his injury. Dont misjudge his play just because we were winning. He has mostly the same flaws he had for 5 years. Give Moore some credit too. I think Dak wouldnt gotten his contract if not for the sensitive play calling by Moore.

“My calf had nothing to do with the whole game,” Prescott said after the Cowboys’ stunning 30-16 loss to the Broncos.

“It held up fine. It was great,” Prescott said of his calf. “I mean, I did a lot of moving, did a lot of scrambling there getting outside of the pocket. No issues. I didn’t feel it. I’m fine.”

I was with you until at the end mentioned this loss could be part of a Conspiracy. Lol

I’m not sure I’d have interest in watching a sport or games I thought was all part of a Conspiracy or fixed. But then some watch Wrestling. Lol

It was a stinker of a day from coaching staff and players. Moore looked lost today.

Why on 4th and 1 do you run behind Williams/Steele?

Seemed they were a step behind Denver all day and ended up outsmarting themselves.

Dak’s in trouble if the long snapper goes down next week. Never has one QB had so many excuses made for him. All things must be perfect or he’s a loser!

I didn’t use the word, and no, I DON’T think evil rich white guys gleefully plot our demise in smoke filled backrooms in secret locations. I’m just amused by the whole Murphy’s Law way that it always seems to work out in favor of the league.

I put about 95% of the loss on all the factors I mentioned. The other 5 or so % I attribute to speculative and sometimes strangely timely penalties, and of course dumb luck. I feel good when we overcome adversity of any kind, and we have, 6 out of 8 times so far.

Just thought of a few questions for you. Would you agree that a lot of people that despise the Cowboys may be less inclined to watch if they think the Cowboys are truly a Super Bowl contender? Do you think a big midseason loss might spark their interest just a little? Do you think a speculative penalty like holding or roughing the passer can affect the outcome of a game? Finally, do you feel that the refs have been consistent?

More conspiracy BS. You just can’t let go of it. I suppose you’ve convinced yourself. Oh well. Whatever works for you.

I think the Cowboys success is in the best interest of the league. If we suk not as much interest. The ratings certainly reflect as such. Haters would rather see us lose a heartbreaker game that means something than go 4-12. No fun hating on a team that suks . They just suk.

And let me ask you this. How many games do you watch a week . Most weekends I watch about 15 or 20 games on Saturday and another 10 or so on Sunday . I see all kinds of bad calls across the league.

But if you’re suggesting there’s an inside organized collusion or even individual vendettas from officials there’s never been any evidence for the 60 +years I’ve been following the NFL or NCAA. Not one investigation or even a whistleblower I’m aware of.

And for the record it didn’t prevent us from the longest winning streak seasons in NFL history(20), most playoffs wins (35)in NFL history which we have hovered around for most of the last 30 years. ( Pats have 37 which we could pass or match this year),16 championship appearances and 8 Super Bowls including winning 3 out of 4. We’ve sure had much success for a team that’s been conspired against.

Maybe in recent years or this era we just haven’t had a good enough team and haven’t made our own luck. And or just got beat by better teams or greater performances. But then we’d have to take full responsibility for our lack of success , any heartbreak or disappointment.

He was leaving the pocket even without any pressure. It was weird almost like a rookie QB would do. Jalen Hurts does that all game long cause he’s rattled. I haven’t seen Dak do that since his sophomore slump. He did it today a ton, the pressure was being overhyped. He was not accurate and Receivers weren’t winning routes. Gallup would be a welcomed spark. Cooper is banged up.

And you can’t let go of the notion that I’m all in on a full blown conspiracy. I just told you that I think the vast majority of what happens is of our own doing. Why don’t you just answer the questions I asked you—are ABD’s less likely to watch if they think we’re better? Would a big loss rejuvenate their interest? Is holding and roughing and interference subjective, and can it affect outcomes? Have the refs been consistent?

Of course we’re their bread and butter—we bring the rating$, and they want us involved. But can’t they have their cake and eat it too? Ride the ratings deep into the playoffs. Picture the NFCCG, Dallas vs. Brady and Tampa, or Cowboys vs. Aaron Rodgers. High scoring game, in the closing seconds Rodgers throws the winning TD, and GB wins by one! HUGE ratings, Rodgers and Green Bay happy, ABD’s happy, and the NFL scoops up the truckloads of cash! Or The Goat, and HIS team smites the “Evil Empire! And if Dallas DOES win, the Super Bowl would be gargantuan! They can manufacture excitement and profit with practically any two teams in the Super Bowl. All I’m saying is they COULD do anything to maximize rating$.

Look at all the upsets just today…
Chiefs over GB
Falcons beat Saints
Giant over the Raiders
Jags beat the Bills

Count on nothing! We could win the next five games, or we could lose them all! Drama

I didn’t mention “ full blown “. Any type or percentage , however low, of Conspiracy is totally unfounded.

And while I can agree with much of your earlier analysis I’ll continue to contest at whatever level you believe in any type of Conspiracy. And only reason I responded .

And still won’t answer my questions! Yes or no to each:

1)Are holding, roughing, and interference subjective, yes or no?
2)Do these calls affect the outcome, yes or no?
3)Is there a large demo that despises
the Cowboys, and would many of them lose interest if Dallas appears dominant, yes or no?
4)Would many of those disgruntled ABD’s get happy/excited by a big Dallas loss and suddenly get more invested, yes or no?
5)Have refs been consistent with their calls, yes or no?

OF COURSE they want Dallas involved.
OF COURSE most of what happens is legit.
OF COURSE no one can prove it.

But if bias DOES exist, if the subjective penalties DO affect outcomes, if the calls ARE terribly inconsistent, and IF some sort of malfeasance has surfaced many times in sports, with billions of dollars involved, doesn’t that EVER make you wonder AT ALL? Yes or no?

No, I never wonder at all. I believe it’s all Legit. Too much to lose if it wasn’t.

The leagues entire Anti Trust existence protection from Congress with their Monopoly on professional football and their collective TV rights would be risking those billions you mentioned. Total legitimacy is paramount.

And there’s no reason to answer any of those other questions because they are all conspiracy based.

As far as refs , no doubt there are bad or inconsistent calls. There’s no perfect situation with human element and subjective scenarios. Shoot I had bad calls when I played Little league and in school. It’s at all levels.

And why instant replay is in place to help correct and verify as many as possible, But again there's no evidence to expand on conspiracy theories.

If there was any evidence or whistleblower at all I’d be first in line to call for an investigation as the integrity of sports and all the billions involved at all levels of competition is at stake.

History has proven that if we had Conspiracy it would come from inside with players or coaches attempting to throw games for gambling. And if we ever had a ref throwing games I’d suspect it was gambling related as well. It’s why professional sports has always distanced itself from gambling . They know the risk is there.
