He had a 108.3 QB rating against Minnesota and he threw for 139 yards
Yep. Which is why I'll never again take QB rating seriously.

I think you confuse critiquing with ******** on someone..It's truly amazing that when we have a phenomenal rookie QB having arguably the greatest rookie season of all time, and the team is 11-1, that we still have fans/posters that **** all over him. Sometimes this fan base is truly something else.
Well, if he has the best pass protection you've seen in a decade, why are you worried?
You're right about that, problem is Romo isn't good at fitting it into tight windows either; defenses play them different with Romo under center but I've always mentioned Romo is unable to hit his guys like Rodgers, Brady, Or Big Ben with a defender riding them in a place only his guys can get it. Dak is still learning so we'll have to live with it, as much as I like Romo when he does that it's usually an int.He did not have a good game against Minnesota regardless of what his rating was. He could not back the safeties off at all, and he finally ran into a team that could cover Beasley and he didn't have an answer. That's why he was holding the ball so long and taking off running... he's not capable of fitting the ball into tight windows. If you take away the garbage dump offs to Zeke that went nowhere, we only completed 8 passes to a TE/WR for the entire game. Had we not gotten a special teams turnover gift and lost, that simply would not have been an acceptable amount of chances taken.
I'm worried against elite defenses like Seattle. We have one of the best QBs in the NFL on the bench
The entire offense struggled more than usual in that game. Several factors played a role. Did he have 2 yards per completion (as you claimed)?Dez was wide open in that game for a 50 yard pass that inflated his numbers. I watched the entire Minnesota game and he couldn't do anything
No, but I think he played fairly well. When we needed scores, he made the plays he needed to. The raw yardage number werent there but he made some clutch plays. I'll take that every week and a W instead of gaudy passing statsNo question. Do the Commanders have a great defense too?
that simply would not have been an acceptable amount of chances taken.
Who also takes more risks and throws more interceptions than Dak does and who was knocked out of the game by Seattle. Don't forget those factors when considering who should start.
MYbe the front office is looking beyond measurable to leadership and how the team is responding, with Romo thing she look. A little brighter but they've been there done that and nothing good has come of it. Once again this may just be that IT factor for Dakota that Romo hasn't been able to displayI'm worried against elite defenses like Seattle. We have one of the best QBs in the NFL on the bench

Romo is one of the best in the business at throwing into tight windows and throwing guys open. Not sure what you've been watching there. You're right about that, problem is Romo isn't good at fitting it into tight windows either; defenses play them different with Romo under center but I've always mentioned Romo is unable to hit his guys like Rodgers, Brady, Or Big Ben with a defender riding them in a place only his guys can get it. 1996 Super Bowl victory Dallas Cowboys 27 Pittsburgh 17 - Aikman put the ball in the air 23 times, O'Donnell puts the ball up 49 times.
1994 Super Bowl victory Dallas Cowboys 30 Buffalo 13 - Aikman put the ball up 27 times, Kelly put the ball up 50 times.
1993 Super Bowl victory Dallas Cowboys 52 Buffalo 17 - Aikman put the ball up 30 times, Kelly/Reich put the ball up 37 times.
Super Bowl 50 last year - Denver 24 Carolina 10 - Manning put the ball up 23 times, Cam Newton put the ball up 41 times.
My point is, putting the ball in the air is a desperate attempt to catch up, or else, you just can't run the ball. As you can see, Aikman didn't put it up too much, but the passes he put up meant something. It meant a win, and guess what? We've been winning.

Why take a chance on an INT when you can produce the desired result (first down) with your running ability if needed?
Dak has 2 INTs this season over 12 games started. That is one of the biggest reasons the Cowboys are 11-1 and win game after game. Dak doesn't throw INTs. And he knows he has more than one way to get the job done.
Yet. You try to ding him for not taking enough chances?
Ok.
Folks had no problem criticizing Zeke the first couple of games when he was running impatient, missing holes, and generally didn't look worthy of the pick. Folks were calling for Alfred Morris. Those were legit criticisms til Zeke got it together. Now we all get aggravated when they put Morris in over Zeke. lolExactly. This thread is about passing yards and 38% of Dak's passing yardage against the Vikings came on one play with a blown coverage where Dez didn't have a DB within 5 yards.
Pointing that out isn't crapping on Dak, its a fact and its perfectly valid to look at the stats with that kind of context in mind.
