Dak's last 9 games

Who would u rather see at qb for the boys

To start- that was just a joke. It was right down the middle and I was swinging away.

To your question- no one on the current roster. I don't follow other teams much either. I just want him to be better. If he can't, then they need to take care of it. I'm just a fan. Giving my opinion.

For all the blame cast on Prescott the offensive line deserves even more. Even factoring in the loss of Travis Frederick - this could be the most overrated unit in all of football.

They have their share, but I wouldn't say, "more." Looney actually did better on Poe than Fredbeard in ATL last year.

Respectable comment. Agreed. I just fear that there is that chance that Dak is good and can become really good but he doesn't have the right support system of coaches around him to help him become all that he can be. That his talent might be wasted. .

That support system won 13 games with him and convinced a lot of fans he was a franchise QB.

I hear ya ... I think that the 2016 roster full of TALENT that overcame the weak and horrible coaching. They won regardless of the consistent bad coaching .

& i felt romo was playcalling on the sidelines...

Clearly some haven't digested it since there are a billion people blaming everything under the sun except the QB. Maybe if they try squinting really hard at the screen when they read it that will help.

Ya it's never Dak's fault it's always the other guy you know what I'm saying bud.....Dak Prescott is PROBLEM # 1 for our team...last week game was sooooooooo winnable but when you have Dak at QB everyone's performance and efforts are being sacrificed so Dak can play QB for America's Team....heck even his TE was laughing at him after he threw that in the dirt pass....and Ya there talking in the locker room about how Dak is keeping this team in the gutter....

This team, I hate to say it, has an abundance of serious issues, none of which will resolve themselves in the short term, which is why I refuse to lose one second of sleep over this team - those days have passed - seemingly for good.

The main problem is coaching or lack of. Dak can only do so much with bad coaching.

Dak has thrown 0 TD passes in 6 of his last 9 games. In that same span, he's thrown 6 TD's and 9 Int's and had 181 yards or less in 7 of those 9 games. Even mediocre QB's on bad teams don't go through stretches like that.

Whatever you think he is or isn't, right now he isn't good, and hasn't been for the better part of a season.

Most of the criticisms extend to the entire offense.

Last 3 games, *with* Zeke back in all of them, we've scored on average < 9 points. We've got more problems than a QB who has regressed.

Agreed, used to get mad whether it was stream of profanity or throwing the remote. And the last 22 or so years have provided several of those moments. The last few years I have mellowed considerably, cant lose sleep over something out of your control.

They've already dumbed down the offense to ridiculous standards as it is. How many 5 yard patterns can they run every play? This short game offense is already tailored for him specifically because he can't throw a deep ball. And they hired a guy just to train the receivers to run better routes - all for Dak's benefit. If he can't succeed in an offense tailored to offset his many limitations, as it is now, what kind of an offense would he succeed in? Please elaborate...

The comical thing in this forum is Dak-homers trying to claim this offense hasn’t been dumbed down for him. They are running fake screens to one side and passing to the other side on a screen. Linehan runs plenty of bootlegs with him, trying to get him out the pocket where he throws better in the run. They are now a plat-action heavy offense and avoid 5-7 step drops. They got him in spread like he ran out of college and get him in shotgun which he threw from all the time.

What more do they expect Linehan to do? You can only do so much with a guy who can’t thriw outside the hashes from the pocket or deep..

No Doubt. He's played 33 games. Only 8 of those games were bad, However 5 of those 8 have happened in the last 10 games. What has changed? He didn't forget how to play. He needs to figure it out and get back on track, because he is on his own with this team.

Teams doubled Beasley and Witten and crowded the middle interior, where Dak likes to throw. They’ve especially taken away the quick reads to Beasley. One of Dallas supposed magical ways to deal with this was to line up Beasley on the outside. But this doesn’t nothing to negate Dak’s inability to throw accurately outside.

He can’t throw outside the hashes plain and simple.

I think that's nonsense. The same coaches put him in position to succeed as a rookie.

Defenses figured him out, now he doesn't get to do the things that make him most comfortable. He has to grow and learn to do other things. You only get to read half the field for so long before defenses force you to read the rest of it. He got more responsibility, was asked to do more, and so far he can't. Once he started checking out of plays and taking more on he started to falter. Coaches can only run a dumbed down offense for so long.

The coaching might not be great, and may not even be helping him as much as it can, but it doesn't throw the ball into the dirt. It doesn't run around like a chicken with its head cut off in the backfield until it gets sacked. It doesn't hold the ball for 3+ seconds waiting for someone to be completely uncovered.

I have seen it mentioned before but, I think that Atlanta game last year broke Dak and he has yet to recover.

Eight games before Atlanta:
63.7% completion
1,818 yards
16 TDs
4 Ints
10 Sacks (41 yards)
102.9 Rating

Atlanta and remaining games:
62.6% completion
1,506 yards
6 TDs
9 Ints
22 sacks (144 yards)
75 Rating

There was only a three game stretch before Atlanta where Dak played ok. In his first five games, he only beat the pathetic Giants and Cardinals. And he wasn’t even good in the Giants game.

He had at least THREE PICK 6s that stretch and another killer INT against the Rams that allowed them to gain the league. And his third quarter struggled were already apparent.

In the other three games, one of them was the 0-7 49ers who were garbage and that was basucally because of a monster game by Zeke. 72 of Dak’s 234 yard passing was a screen pass taken to the house by Zeke who also rushed for 147 yards on 26 carries. The Cowboys netted over two hundred yards on the ground including plus 60 by Rod Smith. Against the Commanders, Dak only threw for 143 yards and no TDs while Zeke rushed over thirty times and 150 yards with two TDs. And Jones got a TD off a pick.

They won those games because of Zeke being fed the ball and the quality of their opponent.

Give up debating with people who do not grasp this. The funny thing is...I guarantee you the rest of the NFL knows this...Dallas knows this...Dak knows this. They try to keep him out of situations where he has to play outside the hashes...but it is unavoidable at times because coverage dictates that's where the ball should go. It limits the offense....which is why you will never make a serious run with Dak unless you have a stout defense

He isn’t good, period. Move on after this year.
