14-6 (Dallas).........Eagles punt to us. We have an opportunity to make it 17/21 - 6 on the drive....but Romo is actually pressured for the first time in the game. TO seemed to be wide open, but Romo forced it to either Crayton or Hurd/Austin. It was intercepted. Honestly, I would have preferred to see Romo scramble and get whatever positive yardage he could. On the ensuing play, PI on Henry (HORRIBLE CALL). Then, TD Westbrook.
14-13 (Dallas)........Eagles kickoff, Stanback fumbles it, picks it up and gets tackled at the 5. Then Romo fumbles the ball (no forced turnover, it just squirted out) and the Eagles recover for a TD.
20-14 (Eagles)
What could have been Dallas pulling away and dominating turned into a deficit and then a struggle for the remainder of the game.
30-24 (Eagles)........Then in the 2nd half, we connect on a deep pass to TO, which puts us into FG range already, but is called back by a holding call on Procter. He didn't even need to hold......We ended up punting.
Oh and i didnt even mention the Jackson fumble when he should have scored a TD.....all we had to do was pick up the ball. Always pick up the ball. It would have been our ball at the 1 and they would have never scored the TD with Westbrook.
So inspite of all of these foolish and in some cases, boneheaded mistakes.....we were able to still do enough to win the game. it also helps that the Eagles made several mistakes of their own.
Had we not made those mistakes, we win in a blowout.....
2-0 is oh so sweet......and I am glad they are making mistakes right now......so they can hopefully learn from them and get them corrected by the time the playoffs come around.
