At this point, the Cowboys are more like the Dodgers or the Knicks.

I like the Dodgers comparison. The Knicks are are only relevant in New York IMO.

George and Jerry are similar, except George bought talent, Jerry buys.....:bang2:

Jerry buys talent too, he just has trouble managing it and finding a guy to coach it.

Rantsports sucks!

The difference between the Yankees and the Cowboys is called a salary cap.

Who knows. Jerry isn't the richest NFL owner by a long stretch... his net worth is supposedly about $3 billion. Paul Allen, the owner of the Seahawks, has a net worth 5 times Jerry's at $15 billion.

The Dolphins, Rams, and Tampa Bay's owners all have net worths higher than Jerry Jones as well.

If there was no salary cap, the possibility exists that a number of owners could drastically outspend the Cowboys.

Jerry brings in more revenue than any of those teams though.

That has zero to do with the amount of money any one of those more wealthy NFL owners wanted to spend in a hypothetical NFL where the salary cap doesn't exist.

Very true, but if they are treating it as a separate business and running it for profit then it may. I guess they could afford to take on debt but that's not how they built their wealth.

I have a feeling any of these teams could profit or break even and afford any player they want though. :laugh2:

Yes, there are rich owners in baseball also; however, the Yankees spend more because they make more.

So how do you explain Snyder spending more and Jerry spending more over the years ?

To the topic...

The Yankees spend a ton, but the cost to see a game there is one of the most expensive in all of baseball.

The point being made is that both teams over spend. Meaning he doesn't like certain signings from either of his favorite teams. That is his comparison, nothing else.

Rebuild. I will agree that the article and point trying to be made are somewhat valid and comparable. but still not the same.

The Yankees had enjoyed success from that method, the Cowboys have not and perhaps some of the over spending makes it more frustrating.

A Yankees fan should look at A-Rod, a Cowboys fan is now thinking more closely about Romo.

I think he is agreeing with the fact that they spend because they have large revenue. Both the Cowboys and Commanders bring in a massive amount of revenue.
