I think he already made McCray expendable.

I actually like McCray but he shouldn't have made this team.

Yea, i didn't think he played nearly as bad at safety last year as some believed.

I just don't see the team thinking he has any potential for him to be a future starter at the position, although i'd much rather keep him on the roster than Frampton.

Frampton is a nobody imo.. i have no idea how he stuck.. but i think he'll be gone very soon.

I would trade a combined 3-4 TE/S in order for Tanney and a couple other CBs/LBs to be on the team.

Perhaps he stuck because he is cheaper than McCray, even with the pay cut. He is a better special teamer, and he can at least play safety in a pinch at an acceptable level. McCray as a special team demon is a myth, Framptom and Albright were much better than he was last year.

If I were livings, weeks, arkin, frampton, Rosario or smith I wouldn't get to comfortable.

I imagine a number of those guys end up on the outside looking in at some point for free agents/waiver signings over the next two weeks.

Who specifically at CB/LB?

Honestly, I don't care. It's a numbers game. You have 5 LBs, 2 of which have a decent injury history. 4 CBs, 1 of which hasn't played in the preseason.

I just don't feel comfortable with those kind of numbers at those positions. The likelihood of any LB or CB getting on the field, no matter who it was, would have been greater than the #6 safety.

Any local whispers on who might be starting at safety, theebs?

Frampton is actually decent at safety and will be the 3rd one since the young guys need more time. Frampton also led the team in STs tackles last season, not McCray.

I just thought you had specific guys in mind that you wanted to see kept here.

I agree, that 6 safety number isn't going to last very long.. nor the 5 LB/4CB numbers.

The fifth cb would probably be inactive anyway as the 6th safety most likely will.

Depends on how they are going to put together the st units.

It would be fun if we signed Austin.

Jerry Reese passed on lee and claimed he wouldn't be that good for Austin.

Yeah, I'd love to see that go down. If for no other reason that to pick his brain on the Giants for week 1.
