Dallas Cowboys: Five bold predictions for 2017
http://thelandryhat.com/2017/05/30/dallas-cowboys-five-bold-predictions-2017/

BOLD PREDICTION #1

Jaylon Smith will play in at least thirteen regular season games.
Everything Smith has been doing since a January 2016 surgery to repair torn ACL and MCL ligaments in his left knee has been focusing on this moment. You always hear that it’s a privilege and not a right to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Well, Smith has earned that privilege about as much as anyone could. Seventeen months of intense rehab and workouts has Smith looking freakishly huge.

He also used the time off to learn the defense in its entirety and recognize what the Cowboys try to do from a scheme stand point. Now it’s just time to transfer that health and knowledge onto the field. While the Dallas Cowboys will be cautious with him in the offseason, there is no indication that he will be limited once the season is upon us.

Whether or not it is with or without a brace will make no difference. Smith will be available in 2017. 80% of what he was in college makes him a long-time solid NFL starter. That journey starts this year when he suits up in at least thirteen games for the Dallas Cowboys...

Some be bold alright.

I could possibly see them being a top 10 defense though with having mostly weak offense's on the schedule.

C'mon, Floaty...but a toe in the water and check it out. Looking forward won't kill the ability to always go back to a doubter's position.

Just don't see any of those happening....Especially Elliott. And the reason why I say that...is...Let's call it the Cam Newton effect. Right after the Super Bowl when CN got beat..he started to run his mouth...it really turned the NFL against him. The following season....couldn't catch a break...all the calls went against Carolina. Funny how the league quit making him a star.

Same thing is gonna happen to Elliott. All those long TDs runs are gonna be called back because of tick tack penalties....because the league is embarrassed by his off field behavior. Just watch...you'll see. That's how the league works. Work hard...Do and say the right things....you get rewarded. And so far...Elliott has done nothing but screw up. Really think the league wants that to be their poster child?

As high visibility as are the Dallas Cowboys, does one believe that what will be the very best offensive line in the NFL will be given a ton of penalties, abnormal, by the NFL?

All players play their own music to some extent. He is getting experience at team leadership as well...and that was heavy for Don Perkins, Tony Dorsett, and Emmitt Smith...and there were egos there to the max, as well.

Bold?

Predicting Jaylon Smith will play 13 games is not bold. Leads the team in tackles is bold. Makes the
Pro Bowl would be bold.

A Top Ten defense, yeah, maybe that sounds bold. But, they were 15th last year. With a few more sacks
and turnovers (please oh please) they may make it to 10th.

Zeke at 2000 yards... kinda predictable for "bold predictions".

Zeke as NFL MVP... Well, he's going to need 30 tds to have chance at that.

Dallas makes a Super Bowl "appearance"? Dude, can't muster up the testicular fortitude to
predict a win. Sheesh.

We have a dozen or so members here that can do better than this weak write-up. I'm not one of them
but I'll give it a go.

My 5 bold predictions:

1. Dak Prescott leads the NFL in passer rating.

Less running and more pocket presence will put Dak's td-in ratio at 35-8.
MVP awards are almost exclusively handed to QBs but I predict there will
be pressure to select an non-QB and also a non-Cowboy this year.

2. Awuzie and Lewis will be week one starters. Also, they both make the all rookie team.

I think Lewis has a shot at leading the team in picks. It seems like it's gone the way of stolen bases
in MLB so I think Everson Walls rookie record is safe here. Lewis finishes with 6 picks and a score.
Awuzie turns into Rod's blitzing corner and actually gets 4-5 sacks.

3. Dez Bryant will humiliate Josh Norman on Thanksgiving Day. 200+ yards and 3 TDs.

I feel like by week four everyone will love Dez again. He's going to have a great year.
I just can't help but root for the guy. That Turkey Day will be full of clips for NFL
Network to play over and over again.

4. Charles Tapper will be our sack specialist. He will be unblockable on 3rd and long.

Now, I'm not saying he leads the team. I'm just saying he will be well rested in the 4th
and will help get the defense off the field late in games.

5. Ryan Switzer will take one to the house in week one against NYG.

With all the hype and anointing oil supplied by CZ, it would be a disappointment if this
didn't happen. Odds are it will likely be called back. Mara will probably throw the flag himself.

#1 would not just be great news for the team, but amazing news for that young man.

#2 is wishful thinking, based on hopes and dreams versus actual evidence.

#3 could very well happen.

#4 is more likely if #3 happens.

#5 would be great, but I think because #2 is unlikely, unfortunately so is #5.

Defense wins championships. This offense is ready, the defense is 3 or 4 players away (RDE, LB, FS, and a #1 CB)

I want to argue against you...call you stupid, etc. But, sadly, I agree with you. I hope we are both wrong.

LOL, this sets a new standard for absolute homerism.

This is like asking Trump how nice one of his hotels is.
