As we look back over the last 5 years of the Cowboys seasons. As a fan I have blamed Jerry, the Head coach, the players, the trainers, the water boy...etc.
I have run out reason why this team is not winning. At some point as fan I just want to support whatever provides a winning team in the here.

Can you provide a bright future forecast to why this team will be winning playoffs games soon?

They'll make the playoffs this year. I guarantee it.

Whether or not they can actually win a playoff game is anybody's guess.

If they don't win a playoff game I'll consider the season a failure and would hope they can JG.

The team is 6-3 and looks like JG culture is starting to bear fruit. If anything they have cleaned up the bad contracts on the offensive side for the most part and has cleared a lot of the bad contracts ont eh defensive side but still needs talent. If the coaching staff sticks together and the infusion of more talent and continued nurturing of the culture this team could feasibly become more like the Pats than more like what we are used to.

1st off not concerned about what they failed to do in past seasons and 2nd Dallas is still sitting in a good position and this season is far from done. We lost 3 games that sucks looking around the league a lot of teams with records no better than ours. Cowboys need this upcoming game then will get a bye week to help heal some guys up and then we will see what they can do over the final part of the season.

This OLine will be here for the next decade. They're damn good now and will just get better and better as they play together. Drafting to improve the D is coming...similar to what was done for the OLine. We have a really good core of skill players. The one big question mark/concern is QB. Can Tony stay healthy? For how long? Can we draft a quality replacement? (Drafting QB's seems to be a crapshoot). P Manning has come back from a serious injury to play well for years and seems that he could play for one or two more. I hope Romo can overcome his surgery and stay healthy. Manning's situation gives me hope that he can.

1 out of 2 trenches completed.

If they can have a solid offseason improving the defensive line, and find another good corner, I see this team making some noise for the next couple of years in the playoffs.

Every team in the league seems to have warts. There does not seem to be a single dominant team this year. Dallas lost to Wash, SD gets blown out 37-0 by Miami, KC crushes New Eng, Denver gets smoked by Ptt...on and on. It just takes getting hot at the right time.

I agree. Thankfully Cowboys stacked some wins early and now with a game vs Jacksonville a head of us Dallas has to go to London and take care of business then we can get a bye week and get some of these bumps and bruises healed up. Hitting the bye at 7-3 mark is big

They had to use 3 number 1 picks to get that line to where it is. Romo will be crippled or retired by the time they get the rest fixed.

This has been a great season so far... im 23 so ive only known mediocrity sans that year we had in like 09.... every other year has been pedestrian 8-8seasons

If we can truly build off recent success in the draft and continue to draft players to fit into our scheme and lockeroom im excited to see a nice run of fighting for Lombardi Trophy's

I don't think they are that far away on the DL. If Lawrence pans out, and I think he will, you have Lawrence - Melton - Crawford - ? on passing downs. Brent should be able to be solid enough as a 1 tech moving forward. So maybe we need a strongside end. Really not that far away.

I think corner and LB have to be high priorities moving forward.

I agree. Don't think it needs a complete retooling. Just needs a good offseason where we can grab 1-2 good players.
I hope we can keep Melton, but not on his current contract.

Good luck to anyone trying to predict the future in the NFL. Who would have predicted Fredbeard would be head and shoulders better than Cards OL Jonathan Cooper, who, by the way, can't beat out an undrafted FA?

Factor in the inability to predict injuries along with the draft unpredictablity and it is just too difficult. Oh, yeah, also try to contingency plan for some player making $500k/yr stealing underwear and tester cologne and then acting like a moron after the arrest.

Seattle won the SB last year and is clawing it's way back into sneaking into the playoffs this year. SF is a mess after their three year run. SF's GM and head coach aren't even on speaking terms. The players can't stand Harbaugh. Who could have predicted the Percy Harvin trade? Seattle won the SB with a lot of disfunction (Harvin fighting with Tate the night before the SB and all the Wilson hate and rumors of some player sleeping with another's wife). Both were model franchises other teams were trying to emulate.

Salary cap, free agency, injuries, draft, schedule, officiating, team chemistry, etc. Good luck predicting anything with all that.

The league is confounding, you truly never know what will happen from week to week.

Who would have thought after Pittsburgh got beat by Tampa Bay & Cleveland, Big Ben would throw 12 TDs in 2 games with no INTs and whip Baltimore and Indy in the process?

What-the-hell??

How did they turn things around so fast?

How did New England go from being 2-2 after being blown out by Kansas City and everyone saying Brady was done, Belechek has lost his mojo, etc to reeling off the next 5 games and blowing out a great team in Denver in the process?

I don't get it, smh........it seems to me other teams find ways to get better as the year progresses but with the Cowboys it seems they slowly fall apart, lose tons of players and have virtually nothing left by the time crucial December games start and this year is following that same trajectory subject to Romo's fragile back.

They have got to find a way to build a deeper roster potentially at the expense of one more of the best players we have (Dez? I know, SACRILEGE!!). I don't believe you can tow a team into the playoffs and beyond with a few superstars hogging all the cap. They need to make some tough decisions at the end of this year, I hope they make wise ones!

I'm pretty sure Dez isn't going anywhere, but you're right about the depth. Depth is the key to sustained success. Having said that, it's much easier said than done.

I would have to think Safety as well
