Why?

He's not going to be the GM. It would be nothing but a title and everyone knows that.

Jerry has faults as a GM but he also has some strengths that not every GM is going to bring. To name one, his personal relationships with the players is really a major benefit - guys like Tyron Smith are clearly extraordinarily loyal to Jerry.

He can keep those relationships without being GM

I'm not too worried. He's basically been in his position for a year. He's been really good, but there's a lot more to being a GM than just player acquisition and scouting. Does McClay have any experience managing a salary cap? Does he have experience in day to day operations like a GM does? I don't know if he does or not. Maybe he does. Maybe he had some of those duties with the Desperados. But if all he's really done to this point is scout and coach, I have a hard time seeing him being hired as a GM. We were worried about this with Ciskowski, and he got some looks, but nothing came of it.

I think he was head coach and GM of the Desperados. Of course that's on a much smaller scale.

thats embarrassing actually from NFL stardards. McClay had a good start in draft and working with Jerry to get McClain but he needs body of work in NFL to be serious candidate for prestigious GM title.

Nah.

Can't be that anyone wants this guy.

I've been told millions of times on here that Jones does all the decision making and doesn't listen to anyone. So why would any other team want anyone from the front office of this team?

This clearly has to be false reporting.
