Dallas Cowboys ON SI: Pickens' projected contract

If he does that he would cost himself 10's of millions of dollars in the long run. He's got to be a bit of a boys scout if he wants top dollar.. The rest of this year and on into next year if he is tagged. If he pouts or acts like biatch his valuation WILL fall. Especially if his antics also cost him production. Or if it just reveals him to be a "me" player. Early in the season we all saw him jogging routes when he was not the #1 option and his effort in blocking in the run game earned Jalen Tolbert and Jalen Brooks more playing time. Since the light bulb has come on not only has his own production skyrocketed but so has his level of effort. Now we see him running out his clear out routes.. we see him blocking for the backs.. We see his route tree picking up options.. He is becoming a more complete player which helps everyone involved. If he reverts back to "I need to git mines or I will pout" then nobody is offering him top WR money. You can't put a bunch of loafs on tape and demand top dollar. He would go the route of Moss and Owens and hop around from team to team. Making good money but never his true worth. .
It all changed when CD got hurt and missed games.

Pickens will be making $35M+ somewhere soon.

CD's performance or lack their of, has only increased Pickens value. Pickens has been hands down, so far, the best WR on our team.

Could/Will that change over the next 5 weeks? Maybe.

Hopefully, Jerry learned from the Micah situation.

Do not wait to negotiate. If need be trade Pickens or preferably CD before the draft.

Jerry needs to set a hard stop on negotiations before the draft.

I realize what you're saying, and normally that holds true, but why did it work for Parsons..

he became all those things in social media, His agent supported the circus, I know Jerry was involved, but they pushed it so far even Jerry had a line, he got his way, parsons was on the hook if he held out games it was going to be like over what 1.5 million per game missed, he was willing to do it,

jerry blinked and he traded him...

That's the thing, there's always an anomaly,

you remember Antonio Brown and Le'veon Bell, what they did to Pittsburgh ,I realized Le'veon Bell pretty much ruined his career doing it, but they can do it ,there are a handful of crazy players and I guarantee George Pickens and that agent are that type, you can tell he did it with Parsons, he's got the same type, if not crazier client, willing to do crazy things..

Like I said,

you want to see crazy, you remember the Reputation George was bringing him here, that's why we got him for a 3rd, he's been on his best behavior ,he's been playing great, but you start making him play for less money and forcing him to stay on a team ,and I guarantee he's not thinking about those things you listed up there, which would be common sense, but some dudes are born without common sense and what they have an agent who has a giant ego, and would support that lack of common sense ,sometimes it works, it literally just worked with Parsons forced his way off this team..

he got all the money he wanted green Bay, didn't care that he faked injuries, and that he was being a Giant Tool online, literally all that circus led him to everything he wanted.

But yeah if it was any other player ,maybe we could use common sense, and logic in this, but we see it with guys like Antonio Brown who by the way we realized was as crazy as we thought the man had pre CTE before he had real CTE, this man is willing to do it and Oh my God they came from the same place the irony here Pittsburgh Steelers,

That's where George Pickens came from, pittsburgh didn't want anything to do with him,

So what will he do it, will be a shock to me if he would agree to play on the franchise tag, he won't sign it to begin with, that will be the first play, that will be the posturing ,that we all started with Parsons, just refuse to come to the building, & the piece of paper or whatever they're doing nowadays it could be digital whatever it is, that's their first play is to not agree to be tagged...

yes, that would put him in limbo.

It might get negotiations moving, and maybe Jerry doesn't blink maybe he signs the tag with an agreement, that he will allow him to shop himself on a 1st round tender, and then see what kind of offers come in, and then Jerry decides whether it's worth matching which would show each side the value, a real true value, not an inflated one ,or not a lowball 1, but true value..

I Guess what I'm saying is that you they need to use the tag like it was originally thought ,like it extended negotiations ,it opened up negotiations, but it needs to lead to long term extension or a trade ,not make a guy play unhappy..

this is not Prescott we're talking about , this is a guy who might be willing to push the limits to get out...
Jerry did not blink. Jerry figure out what he needed to do 2 months late.

Jerry announcing to the his dumb negotiation strategy to world, of deadlines make deals, bit himself in the arse.

Now what I said is fought it Tried to call Parsons Bluff and still would have paid him if they would have set the price at a reasonable rains that he was willing to pay which was the right thing to do I'd say no more than 42 but Parsons got his way His antics his actions all the stuff on social media Everything he did got him what he wanted.

That hard to understand like that that can happen with Pickens easily even more easily because he hasn't signed anything parsons already signed his 5th year option he was on the hook and he still was getting fined for all that money he was going to end up losing a lot of money if he held out pickens just simply doesn't have to sign his franchise tag and sit out there and start the stare down in the posturing with Jerry..

Jerry doesn't mind a little drama but what Parsons did went beyond even where he wanted to go...

It wasn't two months too late If he would have settled in at 42 million they would have shook hands and they would have still been here together but they pushed both the money up and up and they wanted to less years and more guaranteed money and they kept up the nonsense online and Jerry did say OK fine you got your way bye bye...

I guarantee not one of the parties thought they were leaving here until 72 hours before all this truly went down including the fan base and everybody would have been correct nobody planned for him to be gone but he pushed it and it Pickens pushes it hard enough I think Jerry should let him walk..

First round pic could go a long way it could be packaged in the smaller picks we can get a wide receiver in the draft and save $30 million or more that we could spend on the rest of the team i'm not saying I want that to happen i'm saying that's the two things that need to happen you need to give George a long term extension or trade him you don't try to force him to play on the tag because we're not going to get a very fun version of George and we don't need that kind of culture around here..

Like I said I want him to stay but he has some power people keep acting like the tag should be used as an anchor to force somebody to play and that doesn't work with everyone....

Parsons did not get what he wanted.

Parsons wanted to remain in Dallas.

Once Parsons and his Agent realized they went too far, it was too late and Jerry was not going to let them go back and accept a previous offer.

I don't think so he seems pretty happy being on a contender Still a very well known team and he got every bit the money and guarantees he'll ever want for his lifetime he looks pretty happy to me..

I'm sure a little part of him didn't want to leave the Cowboys, but they get over it ,and I know it's a different type of situation but Luka he was distraught, he didn't want to be a Laker , And he actually didn't want out of Dallas he he got almost traded overnight in the dark that was he got done dirty , but you know what he looks like he's having fun now, humans are like that you adjust and you adapt and it becomes the new norm..

Parsons had PTSD for at least a month after he was traded. Most likely still does, he just hides it better or in reality the media just does not cover it anymore because, who wants to go to Siberia to cover it.

Has Parsons purchase a home in GB or is he renting?

Are we to believe that his new contract was not enough money for him to buy a house in GB?

He is so happy there, that he is renting.

Perhaps you haven’t been aware of how he treats players during negotiations. It goes beyond “being a strong negotiator.”

It’s his common practice to leak or create rumors about players to poison public sentiment. It’s a common pattern.
you mean it's common practice for the media to make up all things Cowboys? You have some video of Jerry sneaking around making phone calls like deep throat?

I'm starting to think that all these recent stories of George's value since he got to Texas is a way for the NFL to stick to JJ. The more George and his agents read, the more they think he deserves to be the top paid receiver in the NFL. In other words, the NFL doesn't want to see the Cowboys anywhere near another SB, as long as JJ is alive and kicking..........
Mulugheta is aware of Pickens’ value. He is going to make sure Pickens is pleased with the deal he receives. That includes being happy with what team he plays for. Jerry Jones need only make an appropriate offer. The only person that can “stick it to JJ” is JJ.

If Jerry ends up tagging Pickens, not a bad scenario for a top NFL wide receiver, he’ll probably be discouraged. He won’t torpedo his career over it.

Look man you're pushing this too far first of all George Pickens is not a drafted cowboy he has no ties here and no loyalty here so your whole premise it's gonna fall apart because george don't care about..

Might like his new teammates that's great but he has less ties here in Dallas no house..

I can tell you this if you want my opinion on why he was traded a week before the season started yeah he's got plenty of money to buy a house but does he have time to look around and nobody really wants to live like what areas of Green Bay and he probably don't like the weather either so there's that he may want to be in Dallas in the offseason because of the weather..

My opinion he hasn't had time to look it's not that easy just to go buy a house you do a search for houses in your market in his market there may not be a lot of houses available besides the fact that he has no time to lose his focus searching for a damn house or moving I'm sure that will happen in the offseason...

Don’t have to. He does most of it right out in public at his media scrums

well then that would hardly be considered some kind of leak. Just admit it's a hatred of Jerry more than a legitimate complaint about the way he handles contracts.
