It was a rough year in Dallas for the Cowboys in 2008. They finished with a disapointing 9-7 record and failed to qualify for the postseason when they had Super Bowl ambitions. The Cowboys were sitting at 9-5 controlling their own destiny before two straight losses ended their season including a 44-6 rout in Philadelphia in the season finale. There was the open feud between Tony Romo and Terrell Owens which led to the Cowboys cutting their losses and cutting Owens this offseason.

Dallas went 3-3 against the NFC East last year and 7-5 against the NFC. But against the spread, the Cowboys were also underachievers. They were 7-9 against the Vegas line overall which includes a 4-4 ATS record at home and 3-5 ATS away. They were 7-6 ATS when listed as a favorite but 0-3 the three times they were an underdog

Dallas is listed at 11/4 odds to win the NFC East by Bodog Sportsbook. Bodog has the New York Giants at 33/20, Philadelphia Eagles at 19-10 and Washington Commanders at 23/4.

Dallas will play its season opener against what appears to be a rebuilding Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization. Las Vegas sportsbook opened up Dallas as an early 3 point road favorite. Dallas will then play the next two in Texas, an early 2 point favorite over the New York Giants in week two and a four point favorite over Carolina on Monday Night Football in week three.

Bodog also lists the Cowboys at 7/1 odds to win the NFC Championship and 15/1 odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl XLIV. The season win total is set at over 9 -140.

Betting trends to consider when handicapping; Dallas is 0-5 as non conference underdogs off back to back SU wins

The Cowboys finish the season against the Philadelphia Eagles but this time at home. Will it be different this year for the Dallas Cowboys?

The Cowboys have a much easier schedule with the AFC West, than they did the past 2 years against the AFC East and North.

The Cowboys should be at 7-0 going into Philthy on November 8th IMO. I'm one of the few who feel, that 2009 will be a lot like 2007 was. This team has matured a great deal as well and I see them winning 12 or 13 games this year.

7/1 on the NFCCG and 15/1 on the SB?

I might want a piece of that...small piece. :)

I put 500 on the Cowboys winning the division and 200 on going to the Superbowl this past weekend in Vegas.
