GB has been scuffing too, so why are they considered a top notch O and Cincy is not?
AJ Green was shut down, and I would take him over Jordy Nelson.

Aaron Rodgers and a better OL versus Andy Dalton and an average OL.

The Bengals were a good test in that they have a good defense and we still moved the ball well and scored keeping their offense off the field and forcing them to play catch up. We'll see a lot of good defensive teams this season eagles twice ravens Vikings packers Steelers. If we do well against them, I'll feel pretty good about our chances if we make the playoffs.

How did Claiborne and Jones go from rejects to all of a sudden show stoppers? How has the Dallas defense survived using Marinelli who was one of the worst in the league last year as well as the loss of their only real threat Greg Hardy at DE?

How do you get Marinelli was one of the worse?
His D finish around middle of the pack. And stat wise was no worse then 2014. And people thought they played better than they seemed to be.
And we now have quite a few better players then that 2014 team, as well as last year too.

A few players in the right area, better coaching can make a difference. We are starting to see this from Byron Jones as a true FS.

We rank #2 in total offense and #1 in rushing which has helped our defense.

Got to him a little bit later in the game. Tyrone Crawford had a big sack. But last week was he first real pressure we've seen.
Not the first real pressure.

A more consistent pressure.

Mainly because we have the #2 offense in the league and are #1 in rushing, plus Dak has energized the entire team. Players are stepping up on the defensive side of the ball. We're getting solid play from Mo and Jones. Our pass rush hasn't been as anemic as many of us thought so far because we're playing with enthusiasm and energy. You could really see it last week the way we came after Dalton sacking him 4 times. Once we got Cinn down we finished instead of relaxing and allowing them to make a 4th quarter charge.

Could have easily been 7 sacks since the Davis sacks was called back on a lousy call and Tank "Almost Anthony" was very close to 2 more.

Cincy's D crushes GB's, but as @Sydla pointed out, their OLs are reversed. GB's is far superior, both at run blocking and pass pro.

We need our guys and Tank to get pressure on the declining ARod, as even a declining ARod is better than jag Dalton any day of the week. He is losing it when he gets pressured. When he scrambles, it used to be gorgeous to see him in action, now it's occasionally sad.

Anyways, this is our biggest test, defensively. But I don't think it is offensively.

We're getting more pressure than we have. Last season we ranked dead last or close to it in pressures. Pressure causes INT's and the main reason our corners didn't have a single INT last season was the lack of pressure on the QB.

They say defense wins champions, right?

0 100 yard rushers allowed
0 100 yard receivers allowed
Mo is #1 rated CB
8th in total points allowed
11th total rushing yards allowed

Thoughts? :flagwave:

I am very happy, but I am not a believer yet. I still dont believe we can get as far as we should with this defense.

Tank's return is seemingly lighting a fire under our front 7. Last week, our front 7 looked a little bit like Marinelli's Bear defenses. The improvement is evident, but admittedly we have a ways to go.

Sunday will be a real challenge against Green Bay. If we don't get pressure on Rodgers it will likely be a long day unless we can keep him off the field with our running game.

Maybe our defensive pressure caused 3rd Cousins to get happy feet - leading to overthrows? I'll take it.

Or the coverage was good that it forced Cousins to thread it into a small size target.

Its not the Cowboys fault that the defense is playing well. Maybe the opponent should have taken care of business first by exploiting our crappy defense?
