Cowboys Waiting On Dez Bryant’s Agents
February 21st at 3:45pm CST by Rob DiRe
The Cowboys have not had any recent contact with superstar receiver Dez Bryant‘s agents, according to Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram (via Twitter). However, Hill writes that the team has already made a serious offer to keep the embattled touchdown machine.

The team is now waiting on Bryant’s agents to contact them regarding the offer in order to continue negotiations.

Hill writes that the team has given a number of offers already as this process has moved on, before Bryant changed agents in November. The team believed they were close to getting a deal done at that time (via Twitter).

Bryant and Roc Nation will take time to consider the offer before contacting the Cowboys and move forward towards getting a long-term deal finished. The Cowboys still hold some leverage in that they can use the franchise tag on Bryant to guarantee his presence on the team in 2015. Of course if they can get a deal done soon, they will have the option of using the franchise tag on DeMarco Murray.

This doesn't sound like new information.

It is, because there had not been any information. What this does say is Dallas has never stop negotiating. They even made offers to his people in November.

I firmly believe that Dez is a Cowboy for life but it is getting a bit concerning. He is my favorite player since the 90's excluding Romo and Witten.

I have no idea what his agents are feeding him and if it is good or bad advice but I will say one thing.........if Dallas lets him go elsewhere, I will be very upset. He is the passionate player that this team needs in a big way.

Murray or Dez if it comes to it, easily Bryant and not even close. I love his heart and desire.

I get where he is coming from, get the most money possible and I would do the same but Dallas needs this guy on the team. He is much more valuable than a RB and I like Murray.

If for any reason that Dez walks, they better get both Suh and Hardy or my fandom might come into question :(

I thought they were referencing the 10 year 114 m offer made back before he changed agents.

10 year contract... for a WR... I hope there isn't a whole lot of guaranteed money in the last few years...

If it's only 30 guaranteed I'd say those last 7 years are cuttable no penalty. Can't see ten being the amount of years though.

Dez picked a bad time to switch agents, just when a deal seemed on the verge of being struck. If anything or anyone is responsible for these negotiations being bogged down in delay, it appears to rest largely on Dez's decision to make such an untimely switch. It takes patience and good faith to reach a contract fair to both sides. Seems to me if Dez was so committed to being a team guy, he wouldn't get so carried away with the personal issues he's been constantly complaining about. Business is business and personal issues don't belong there. If he's such a team guy, he best try to recognize the bind his team is in to resign its many standup FA players.

Its a waiting game. I think Dez and his people want to see what Cobb, Maclin and Torrey Smith get.

Dez is much better than those three- I think the hope is that someone overpays for one of them, then Dez can go and say, "look, I'm much better than that guy and he got x amount of money a year. This is what my market value is now worth."

Although, realistically, Dez should be in the same ballpark as Demaryius Thomas and whatever deal he gets.
