That’s a lot of yardage for 5 games. Wow...400?
A 10yd avg per? So basically we’ve given teams 4 football fields to work with already, great.

Exactly. When you drill down stats you can make anything seem dastardly. Like that no-holds-during-consecutive-harvest-moon-months stat a few years back.

We've had the 12th most penalties called against us (1 more than NE, 2 more than KC) and are 16th at benefiting from penalties (2 less than KC, 3 more that NE). Nothing to see here, except from CONSPIRACY! wackjobs.

It’s not just total yardage that matters. Timing is everything. A few well timed penalty can help a game turn out any way you want without having to go crazy.

How many flags get thrown AFTER a 15+ yard gain? Once the play is over. Against Miami they actually huddled up to discuss what they could call after a score and there was no replay to be seen.

This X 100!

Couldn’t agree anymore. Austin’s holding? Quinn’s roughing on a 3rd down ...

Other teams get penalty but always ends up making it a first and 15 after an incomplete pass or something non beneficial

No he wouldn't have. You think they never got penalties back when Jimmy was HC?

Aikman in this video explains the problems with mediocre coaching that lead to mistakes... that even the Cowboys in the late 90’s could not overcome.

Jerry in the video seems to take Switzer’s side and even hired a coach (that JG seems to become) that Aikman absolutely hated in the last part of the video.

The Cowboys have lacked a coach that punished and scolded players for mistakes and losing since Jimmy Johnson (and maybe Parcells to an extent). Jimmy played the bad cop while Troy played the good cop.

That is why the Cowboys keep committing penalties and turnovers almost every week.
