Dallas has 39 penalties against them for 402 yards. But they have benefitted from 37 flags that gained them 307 yards. So its a 95-yard differential. 6 times they were declined so you can add that in too.

Aikman in this video explains the problems with mediocre coaching that lead to mistakes... that even the Cowboys in the late 90’s could not overcome.

Jerry in the video seems to take Switzer’s side and even hired a coach (that JG seems to become) that Aikman absolutely hated in the last part of the video.

The Cowboys have lacked a coach that punished and scolded players for mistakes and losing since Jimmy Johnson (and maybe Parcells to an extent). Jimmy played the bad cop while Troy played the good cop.

That is why the Cowboys keep committing penalties and turnovers almost every week.


I missed in the video where JJ cut someone for committing a penalty.
