As for the rest, I don't terribly care where the line is or who they play vs. who they sit because I DON'T CARE WHO WINS THIS GAME. Put the practice squad out there, who gives a fig?

Obviously the roster numbers mean you can't sit everybody, but certainly you can make intelligent decisions about who you can sit. Not sure why that is a problem for a thoroughly meaningless game.

terrible comparison for a multitude of reasons.

1) Available players at your disposal is much different in the preseason.

2) Sloppy play first few weeks of the season attributable to lack of work.

3) No evidence as to success of resting key guys and their performance in subsequent playoff rounds.

4) This is football. If you coach scared... Or you start to look ahead.... You falter.

Best coach in the game plays his guys in these situations. Good enough for me.

Let everyone prep for the game as usual, play them for a quarter. Sit anyone and everyone that might benefit from the rest after that. This keeps their routine in tact, limits their exposure and gives Demarco a chance for the record.

I think this is a more than intelligent compromise.

Going all out to win this game at the expense of exposing key players to injury is foolhardy.

I’m sure if they enter the playoffs after giving guys time off and they play sloppy I’m sure the peanut gallery will chastise them from the layoff. lol
