You guys think that this is the year the Mavs finally win the title and shed the label of "can't win the big one"?

I say Mavs/Pistons Final with the Mavs coming out on top in six.

I hope.

The Mavs blew it last year losing to a lesser team in the Heat.

What the Mavs are doing this season is incredible so far.......starting 0-4, they are 41-5 since that start.

I didn't realize the Mavs had the lable of "can't win the big one". Isn't that title relegated to teams that consistently get close, but do not win it all? Dallas history in the NBA is really not that long and has been sporadic. They have had some good teams and some really bad teams. Last year's was probably their best until this season. If they blow it in the Finals again, maybe they can earn that lable of "can't win the big one".

It's similar to the label the Cowboys had in the late 60s. They had been around for a little over a decade before they won their first Super Bowl. This was preced by losses in the NFL Championship games in 66-67 divisional losses in 68-69 and a Super Bowl loss in 70.

Compare this to the Mavs(who have been around for 25+ years) who since their return to the playoffs in 2001 have lost in the second round in 00/01 01/02, in the Conference championship in 02/03, in the first round in 03/04,the second roundin 04/05 and the Finals in 05/06. They have consistently been seen as a team that will rack up a lot of regular season wins but don't have what it takes to win a seven game series against an elite team. I thought they would dispell such a thought last year. Maybe this year, hopefully.

This is certainly a banner year thus far. After starting the year 0-4 they are now 42-9. That's 42-5 since the 0'fer start. Pretty amazing stuff.

In the West, the Spurs are looking a bit old right now, but I'm sure they will be ready come playoff time. They still have talent and even more important, experience.

The Suns are looking pretty darn good too. With Stoudamire playing well they are tough to beat. The key to their season is whether or not Nash can stay healthy.

Should be a very entertaining conference playoff.

I'll always root for my Spurs, and I never count them out as long as they have their big 3... but I have to admit that they have their work cut out for them this year. The West is looking absolutely brutal with Dallas and Phoenix.

Houston is doing well and Yao Ming hasn't even been playing. The playoffs in the west should be very good.

Go Grizzlies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Good Gosh... what happened to Memphis this year...

They had the makings of an up and coming team the last couple of years...

Looks like they might only win 20 something this year...

The owner is trying to sell the team and has gone cheap. Not to mention Fratello was a terrible coach and Gasol was hurt the first two months of the season.

Hopellly a new coaching staff, owner and cap money to spend will fix some of those problems.

Also Durant or Oden would be nice. :D
