Scoring team in the NFL after week 1. Only the Broncos with 49 had more points.

I don't care how we scored that's impressive!!!

Defensively, it's very impressive. Offensively, I was not all that impressed.

It's good, however, I try not to get wrapped up in stats too earlier in the season because they don't mean a lot at this point. It's for that reason I don't dwell on the fact that Cowboys have the 30th ranked defense in the NFL... which is measured by yardage which is not a particularly great metric for measuring a defense.

We left a lot of points on the field. If we capitalized on those turnover early the game would've been out of reach. It still was great to start the season with a W.. Just hope we keep getting better on O it looked sloppy and out of sync to me.

Especially with the 6 extra possessions. That said, little things make a huge difference in the NFL. Had Williams made the correct route adjustment early, for example, we might have been on our way to an early rout. Watching the Texans and the Eagles last night made me happy we were just able to hang on when the Giants made their move.

Yep. Next week, half the teams that looked good this week are going to spit the bit. It's not until after week 3 of the NFL season that I feel comfortable betting on anything, one way or another.

Was just pointing out a fun positive stat and a team accomplishment. Shoulda known every reply would be negative. Its why I rarely start threads. Call me crazy but scoring a lot of points is how you usually win

I appreciate. It's not negative. I do these kind of computations in my head all the time as well. It's fun. For example:

Based on 1 game:

Cowboys will score an NFL single season record 576 points for the season
Will Allen will break the NFL single season record with interceptions with 16
Miles Austin will the end the year with 160 receptions
Demarco Murray will end the year with 128 receptions
Demarcus will end up with 0 sacks for the season
Tony Romo will break the all time NFL record with a %73.5 completion percentage.

Better yet,Eli will throw 48 interceptions

with 6 turnovers and 2 defensive TD's you should score more than 36... just saying, but I'm very happy they won mainly because thats a game they would have lost the last 2 years

And Green Bay will be 0-16.

And David Wilson will have 32 fumbles.

And Peyton Manning will throw for 112 TD's.

Well, in the OP's defense, Perry Kemp always manages to put a negative slant on any positive the Cowboys manage, including victories. Not about Green Bay though.

Just in the past couple of min. I have read:

where PK talked about Dez being injury prone
About the Cowboys being the second highest scoring team doesn't matter
About Murray's yards being against a NY defense that has sucked
About how Jerry talks too much
When someone was saying good things about the offense he said "let's not act like the Giants have anything but a middle of the road (at best) defense.".

The guy always cuts down Dallas in a passive/aggressive manner that can be irritating. I'd say it was just his personality except for the fact that he never is that way about Green Bay. It's funny because people with that personality usually are consistent with it.

I'm sure he means well though.

Maybe he's a closet greenbay fan / TROLL!
