Dallas should try to get Josh Freeman

Actually, Freeman was pretty good last year until the last 3 games. Go look at his game logs from 2012. As of November 11th he had 18 passing TDs and only 5 INTs. Then even as late as Dec 9th he had 25 passing TDs and 8 INT. He ended the year with 3 terrible games and finished with 27 passing TDs and 17 INT and over 4000 passing yards. That is actually a pretty good QB stat line. In comparison, Romo threw 28 TDs and 19 INTs. He did throw for almost 1000 more yards and a higher completion percentage, but still, you can't say Freeman is bad.

If we could somehow get him for a late round pick and pull off him only costing 1 to maybe 3 mil a year I would consider it. Oh, and he was willing to be a backup QB for at least another 3 years minimum (doubtful). I would mainly be interested because he is 25 and still has plenty of upside, while Orton is almost 31 and is what he is (a decent backup QB).

However, the main reason I wouldn't be interested is because he seems to be a locker room cancer and we have had enough of that around here. Garrett seems to finally have the locker room clear of cancers (except Ratliff). I like the fact that the team seems to finally have some chemistry. I probably wouldn't risk that with a guy that wants to be a starter but is still clearly not as good as Romo.

I said he is like dilfer. He may not be a team mate like dilfer was but Freeman has the skills to be a very good QB and whe he is on he is good but when things turn south they stay south for awhile. Dilfer was like this when he threw an INT he tried harder the next time and threw another INT. Both got into these downward spirals. Both could not really take criticism. Dilfer was pretty prickly here in Baltimore because all he was told to do was throw if you only know it won't be intercepted.

He already is a JAG, whether he is good or not makes no difference. Orton is the better backup now and I would rather develop Tanney or some other player then spend a draft pick on Freeman. If Cowboys want to actually enhance their title hopes THIS season as well as for the future, then trade for young players that can have an impact right NOW.

Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, Phil Taylor, Ruben Ahtyba, Brian Hoyer - There's a firesale in Cleveland I hear - and Norv Turner runs their offense so the transition should not be very difficult.

not sure why a team like the jags or browns or raiders would not take a shot on trading for this guy. it's the last year of his contract and he's better than what they have. why not kick the tires for a year if you have cap room to do it? for the cowboys, no way. he is not backup material (mentally) and we have a QB signed long term already.

I haven't read the entire thread, so apologies if this has already been mentioned, but Freeman has made it very clear that he wants to be traded to a team where he'll be the starter. Also, the guy is the very definition of an inconsistent, streaky QB. No way he comes here.
