He's just another camp body but this guy was absolutely horrible this last year at ASU. The year before he was solid though.

Carpenter, Lambert sign as free agents

After not hearing their name called in the NFL draft, Rudy Carpenter and Terrail Lambert signed free-agent contracts.

Carpenter, a former Arizona State quarterback and Westlake High graduate, signed with the Dallas Cowboys.

Lambert, a former Notre Dame cornerback and St. Bonaventure High graduate, signed with the San Francisco 49ers.

Carpenter is scheduled to report to Dallas for minicamp on Friday.

The Cowboys acquired Jon Kitna in the offseason as Tony Romo’s backup and drafted former Texas A&M quarterback Stephen McGee in the fourth round.

Prior to the draft, Carpenter said Dallas was the team that showed him the most interest.

The Cowboys are so excited to have Carpenter on the team that they have received special permission from the NFL to present him with a specially designed jersey just for him to wear at training camp:

Players such as Ware, Spencer and Ratliff were quoted as saying they could not wait for training camp to start now that Carpenter has been signed.

This kids freshman year he subbed in for Sam Keller and was on fire the rest of the year. He had 17 Td's to 2 Int's. The following three years a lot of the talent disbursed and the oline was pathetic.

I remember in the Cal game Daymeion Hughes stepped on his throwing pinky. He continued to play the rest of the game and the season with that injury. I also saw him get pummled against USC and Oregon. Kid is pretty tough and there could be something there. I think he's a better prospect then Stephen McGee.
