I can't remember the game well. And I missed a good deal of it because instead of hosting Christmas like my parents normally do, we didn't host it, and so I missed most of the game.

How was the pass protection that game?

Not very good. I had to go back and check the numbers but Philly recorded 3 sacks and 2 ints

If I remember correctly, they were in Romo's face a bit forcing him to step up in the pocket to get the pass off. The running game wasn't good either, as Barber had 3 carries from the Philly 1 and ended up only losing 3 yards. That kind of set the tone for the whole game.

That's exactly the way i saw it. Garcia seemed to have all day to pick his target. Also coming out of halftime L.J smith hits us for a 65 yrd pass play, because burnett seemed not to have a clue on whether to blitz or drop back into coverage. He hesitated just enough for smith to run right by him and hit us for a huge gainer, but that goalline stand by the eagles was an indication that it wasn't our day.

Not good. They blitzed us quite a bit and it forced Romo to improvise a lot.

I forgot how good he had played in those first 3 quarters. If you take away the 3 drops, he would have completed 80+% of his passes for 10+ YPA. I remember Romo catching so much grief from that game, but he was by far the player on the team that day.

TOs drop on that long pass down the sideline and the line being unable to punch it in on 4 tries from the 1 yard line are what lost that game.

We were anemic. Also, that game showed how inflated the running game was. Without the passing game working to set up the run, we really blew on the ground.

I think that game also shows our identity, maybe not as much now but it is certainly still evident: we need the pass to set up the run.

I hope someone really just pounds us this pre-season and tries to expose us.

On X-mas Eve there was a note on The Boys Blog saying Vela had an extra ticket for this game
Since I NEVER win anything, imagine my surprise when after 38 years of being a Cowboy Fan I finally walked out from the concourse and beheld that expanse of green, silver and blue
(Major goosebump moment- I thought i heard the Angelic Chorus in the background)
Unfortunately that was it for the goosebumps.
Romo was harassed all day, and it seemed the offense was :bang2: all day long.
The 8 hour drive with Raphael, and the experience of actually being at TX Stadium was far more entertaining than the game
