So paint in the eye isn't an issue? If you say so. (pretty sure it isn't easy to remove)

It's a minor one(paint washes out, you aren't down 2-3 weeks) compared to the shroud the paint is in. It could scratch your eye, detach your retina, or cause bleeding between the lense and iris. That's from the impact of the ball, not the paint inside.

You guys ever go back and visit these threads and wonder why you were worked up about a guy missing a couple weeks on the field? I mean, it sucks. But it doesn't 'cash in the season' suck. At the end of the day, Damien Wilson getting hit in the eye with a paintball is going to be small potatoes on the list of **** That Goes Wrong this season.

...of the ball, which has paint on it. Which gets in the eye.

The paint itself is non toxic but the plastic capsule that is the ball is different story. That little capsule of paint is coming at you at 240-280 feet per second if the gun has not been tweeked. So a little pellet at 160+mph

I don't think there is any specific example. It's just more of a "woe is us" situation. It just seems that anything that can go wrong, does go wrong.

We haven't even started camp yet and were already down

Lawrence - Starting end for 4 games
Gregory - Starting end for possibly the entire season
Rolando McClain - likely won't ever play another down here
Damian Wilson - Was expected to take a big step and make more contributions this year.

Injuries are are part of the game. But let us at least get to the game!!! Lol

You can't make this stuff up.

No, you can't -- although, I sure wish that was the case here. A paintball in the eye hurts just to think about. Ouch!

The only thing that comes to mind that might even compare to it is a direct hit to a gonad. Think about that, Sparky!

Yeah, it's been a bit of a rough start, overall. The Lawrence thing is especially painful. I'd like to know what it was, because I have a feeling I'd be especially irritated by it.

Wilson is relatively small potatoes. Even though it's idiotic. But it's the sort of thing that happens when you get 90-some 20-something year old young men in a group. Some of them get hurt doing stupid stuff.

Gregory's a case of bad judgement and it cost us. McClain's already off my radar as somebody who retired again. He's dead to me. We'll see how camp goes. Looking at other teams across the league, their rosters are getting nibbled, too. It's what happens this time of year.

Is his injury similar to the one Cris Canty suffered before his rookie year?

Hey, look on the bright side. If this had to happen to one of our LBs at least it wasn't Sean Lee. They'd be wearing patches in his memory this season.

That's what the goggles are for.. Rocket science.

I was thinking the same thing and when I have gone paint balling with friends they are very strict about wearing them at all timea

Damien Wilson won't be ready to practice when the Dallas Cowboys begin training camp on Saturday.

The Cowboys linebacker got hit in the eye with a paintball a few weeks ago, owner Jerry Jones announced on Friday during the State of the Cowboys press conference.

Wilson did travel with the club to California, but the team will use some caution with bringing him back until his eye sight is completely back to normal. It'll likely be 2-3 weeks of missed time for Wilson. Wilson will start camp on the active/non-football injury list.

Reminds me of the 2013 season when we went tru like 20 defensive linemen and 10 linebackers before it was over. Brady Poppinga started one game at some point. Same ol song and dance.
