I've had it with the freakin' NFL Network this year...tonight, I don't get to see the Skins/Giants game because I don't have the digital program with Comcast.

Everyone said this was coming, but I didn't really think the NFL would let their product become so exclusive...This makes three games I've missed this year due to the NFL Network...what will the future bring? I'd imagine it can only get worse.

The future will bring pay-per-view I fear.

The future will bring television in which satellites, orbiting the earth, will beam signals back down to individual houses equipped with a receiving dish

The future is now. :)

You're welcomed to come over to my house. I have a 60" HDTV that I enjoy every week thanks to DirecTV. You just have to figure out how to get here and back.

I'll have plenty of beer too. Hope you like Heineken. ;)

i hate dish, i used to have that pos and the signal would go out every time it snowed, or rained cats and dogs, and it went out with high winds.

go with digital cable

As an aside, what's ironic is that the NFL NETWORK televised the largest bowl comeback in NCAA history.

Think maybe ESPN isn't a little upset they had the boring Maryland - Purdue game instead of Texas Tech - Minnesota?

No thanks. I have no such problems. And I get every NFL game, I get every NFL game rebroadcast in less than 30 minutes a piece, that I can record and watch while I'm sitting in bed, falling asleep, a stat tracker for fantasy players, and ACTUAL customer service.

Cable can suck it.

My signal never goes out unless I am in the midst of a really bad thunderstorm which we rarely get. I will say, Dish satisfaction is based solely on geographic location. The sky is often clear down here in Florida. Now, if I were up north dealing with the 4 seasons, then I would probably be screaming at my local cable company right now too.

Well, thankfully, in January I will get all that and the better product from cable.

So will everyone else in the world. The 4 playoff games per weekend is no different than what anyone with cable gets now. I like the option of tuning into the other 12 games that are on if I want to. If CBS would realize that noone is watching their crappy non-hidef broadcasts, it would be just about perfect.

Cable = lower than whale crap. Had it, hated it, hated the company and their ****, un-customer-oriented ways. Never goin' back. :)

Not only have you missed some games due to the NFL channel, the NFL has basically detroyed the Sunday Ticket because of the extra games now being shown on Sunday night, Saturday, Thursday, Monday, and national broadcast. I've been a Sunday Ticket subscriber for ten years, and this is the worst year ever. Then Directv wants to charge extra to watch the games in HD. I definitely plan on writing a letter at the end of the year to NFL.

Were you also a Mediacom customer? :p: I think Mediacom is the devil and I will never let them anywhere near my house ever again.

No. Because of the Comcast/Time Warner/Adelphia deal, I'm getting Comcast in my area and it carries the NFL Network.

Cable = better internet service; better picture; less service disruption.

That is kind of annoying, isn't it? Near the end of the year, it's like "what am I paying for again? Nearly all the games are broadcast anyhow." Then, Dallas gets pushed by a Skins game or blacked out by the Steelers, and I remember. :D

I think we'd have a great time watching a Cowboys game together, but I fear any discussion of T.O. would lead you to kick me out before the game was over....and it's a long way back to Virginia....:)

There really is no better picture with cable. The only service disruption I've ever had (and this is living in the north) is when my box went bad and I couldn't get the local HD channels. Nothing I do at home requires cable internet service, so I don't notice any difference in DSL from the cable we have at work. Nothing could posess me to go back to cable and abandon the NFL sunday ticket, lol.

They've got you snowed good bro.

DTV's (normal) pictures is superior to a digital cable picture.
Bellsouth's Extreme DSL is far superior to cable's shared internet connection when you measure consistency of connection over a 24 hour window of time.
I've had less service interruption with DTV than I ever had with cable. MY DSL also never goes down. These are all opinions of course. Very strong ones. I had cable in my house for 5 years. Never again. ;)

Nah man. I'm not even like that. We'd enjoy a good Cowboys game and sip on lots of Heinys. ;)
