I used to take the Kiper offering, and I liked it, but always preferred Ourlads'...

Jerry might have been the GM in title, but you know damn well who was handling the personnel decisions on that team. I read a pretty eye opening book recently (Boys Will Be Boys), if you haven't read it yet, you should definitely check it out. It really provided a lot of insight on who was pulling the strings during the glory years.

I've read it...lol

Doesn't change anything

Critics can slam Mel all they want, but I'll always be grateful to the man. Before the internet, he was one of the very, very, very few people who kept us draftnicks informed. His was almost the bible, along with Ourlads, and the late Joel Bushbaum, who was probably the best of them all..

That was my same reaction when this news broke last year.

True story - I'll never forget calling Kipers office to buy my draft guide (late 80's) and actually spoke to Mel's wife. I wanted to ask her if she was jealous of Mel's hair but didn't.

You spoke to Mel's wife because he never had any employees. The business was always just Mel and Kim Kiper.
