It wasn't just injury concerns around here, though that might not be what you're referring to. The team was ripped for going RB in the 3rd, and then Murray was ripped for not being the right RB.

He has missed time, but I can't imagine him not being considered a great return on his draft pick, nonetheless. He's a really underrated player when he's in the lineup.

I hated the pick at the time.
Fans do not have the info coaching staffs do.
We didn't know Felix was busy eating himself out of the league at fast food joints.
Injury status/Position were both big parts of why I disliked the pick.
But again even knowledgeable fans are comparatively(to front offices) clueless.

Not at all, but three years later, just about anyone with eyes and a reasonable grasp of football talent knows who has proven himself and who hasn't by then. Don't misunderstand -- I'm surely not saying not to read it if it suits you to. By the way, I hardly ever miss Cowboys' games -- last time that happened was around 1984 during my best friend's wedding.

i just find drafts more interesting a couple years out.

well you have me beat on missed games..i intentionally didnt watch a couple in wades last year. i did miss the playoff win against the vikings in 96..was at the casino with this girl was chasing at the time. should have stayed home for the game.ha

I remember when the media ripped JJ for drafting Murray. Galloway wrote a whole column around a 3rd rd. selection; Norm ?ed the pick.

To be fair even Jason Garrett said that they were surprised at how much different of a back that Murray was from when he was at Oklahoma to when we got him.


Half of the people on here thought we were going to turn him into a slot receiver.
