I get your point, but if we landed a Greg Ellis at pick 27, I'd be thrilled!I'm sorry, but hearing that an edge guy plays the run well is a scary reminder of how Greg Ellis was classified after he was drafted in 1998.
Give me the guy who can actually finish the deal rather than a guy who couldn't.

I think drafting Hunter is a projection, for sure. But the team was high on other high reward players, according to reports, such as Brockers, Poe, and our own Tyron Smith or Demarcus Ware at much higher picks no less. What matters with a projection is that they check all the boxes in terms of measurables, work effort, desire, and offer some immediate skill that the team can use so that the player isn't a waste of roster space.
Hunter meets all the requirements, and by all accounts, is a standup guy with 'unlimited upside'.
Give me a guy like that at 27 and I'm OK with it.
I am not a fan of LSU players but the more i watch him the more i think he can be a good pass rusher with proper coaching. He has the frame to add 20 pounds easily and is already very strong and insanely athletic and plays the run extremely well.this will be a high upside pick but we can work him in at LDE while Hardy is out but the future looks good for him.
I'd be very happy if we drafted a Greg Ellis level player at 27 this year.
Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane .
This is no Bobby Carpenter we're talking about here
are you sure ?
Round 2 at 60....absolutely.
Round 1....insanity!
Too early... I prefer O.O.
Greg Ellis was a very under appreciated player. He was a good starter for a number of years where you could count on him for 7, 8 sacks each year. I get that we judge pass rushers on 10 plus sacks season, but I would absolutely take another Greg Ellis.
