Darnell Dockett to be released...

I am not usually the guy that jumps at every released FA and says we should sign him, but given that Suh likely will not hit the open market, a combo of 3-tech Crawford and 1-tech Dockett looks real good to me. He had some of his best years in AZ as a 1 gap DT. He is coming off a torn ACL (in August 2014 preseason), and is 34, but has averaged 7.0 sacks as an interior DL for his career. He'll come more cheaply than Nick Fairley IMO...

I will be interested with a mincey type deal provided he is healthy to go.

I'd be right with you if this was 4 yrs ago, coming off and ACL and at his age I just don't see it. Love the player though.

Has a better motor than Fairley by far. I approve.

Pass.

It's been years since this guy was a good player.

I was not a happy camper when he signed with the Cardinals. I still don't understand why Jerry didn't go after him harder. Now there is a reason he and guys like Canty are being let go.

He is good enough to be on the roster of every team in the league, even at 34 years old.

I would love to know what his agents think he is worth, because it isn't like the Cardinals don't want him, just not at his current asking price.

Maybe Dockett just didn't want to leave Arizona. He has spent his whole career there.

I think Dockett on a 2 year deal with incentives would be a great deal for us. Bring some veteran leadership in and hope that he produces what we all thought Melton might.

Absolutely. Dockett is a man. Let him man the backup while the youth develops.

You folks that think Dockett is still "all-that" should review some of his games of prior seasons.

He hasn't been a good defensive lineman in years.

On top of that he's only 6'3", 293lbs... He's not #1 DT. Crawford is the starter at the #3 and there are several guys that would make a better backup for Crawford like Paea.
