really Vanilla sure what else could we have tried, maybe amore but missing your 2 starting Tackles , best WR, and Cobb all on one side of the ball..it was a weak plan backfired but there were reasons for it... the defense spit the bit really but in the second half woke up but it was too late..it happens..

like I said MOVE ON>>its in the rear view mirror and we have bigger games ahead..

It really is a combination of coaching, execution and the way the ball bounces. For instance, we set the tone in this one by causing a fumble on the first drive. Coaching put LVE and Smith in position to make the hit they did. Execution by the linebackers caused the fumble (you could say a lack of execution by Goedert to better protect the ball also was in play) and the ball ended up in a place where Woods could get to it faster than Agholar (although coaching and execution also played a role in Woods hustling to chase down the play and be in position to make the recovery).

Coaching, execution and the bounce of the ball all went wrong for us against the Jets.

there were some really dumb responses on the Darnold is better then Dak thread lie they would trade Dak for Darnold in anano second.. seriously .. I know Dak has some haters and trolls but I would not make that trade unless its Dak for Darnold and a 1st round draft pick his season.. jets will have a top 5 pick.. so maybe but Darnold is NOT better then Dak..

when dak was given time against softly played D in the first 3 games he looked like Joe Montana, it happens.. but overall Dak is a lot better then Darnold at this stage..i mean did Darnold get a Rookie of the year award and go 13-3 in his rookie year, play EVERY Game, won a playoff game, and won divsions? No that was ALL Dak from the first snap to now..

I get Dak isnt and most likely will never be true top5 or Elite QB but the guy hasn't done anything to make you think he isnt a franchise guy from the day he started his first game..

so Darnold has potential? that a $5 will get you a cup of coffee..jeez

I did but until we see more creativity on a weekly basis, and not just a reaction to one week, I will remain skeptical.

We need more creativity out of the D side more so than the O side IMO, but both need it.

It as zero to do with being dialed in. Pats defense is probably the best in the league. They had zero chance to do anything. Our defense is simplistic and vanilla. Pretty much the same as the defenses they run in preseason and the pro bowl. Base defense, little to no blitzing and no deception. Any offense at this level can take advantage of that most of the time.

That's just it, Jets game was the ultimate trap-game and we felled right into it. Think about it, winless Jets followed by our biggest divisional rivalry game. No way in hell we should have lost that game last week and at the end of the day, that one's on Garrett.

Then you have what we did to Carson Wentz last night. Prob had him seeing things that weren't there.

We should have blitzed the Jets every single play. We can cover in the secondary and they have one guy that can really hit a big play.The pats last night brought 0 blitzes the entire game. The jets oline couldn't pick it up. We played scared as usual.

Pressure = Turnovers. I hope this coaching staff learned something from Sunday Night.

...yep, yep, I watched about 1 qtr of the game. Very first thing that was noticed was, Pats aggressive D. On the very second play a full blitz, which resulted in Int. Most QB's in the league cant beat full blitzes. Donald Duck is one of them.
