Who really cares? If I am a commentator and I am getting paid a very good amount of money I am not going to sit on anyone's stage and say WTG TO! You really burnt his butt man!!! There's nothing like soiled toast!!!

That would bt counterproductive to the reception of my paychecks.

So don't expect any of the talking heads to condone anything. I love D Wood but he is just that nowadays... A talking head.

TO has no right to spit in a man's face. Talk crap to Hall, but don't spit in his face. It's ridiculous.

With that said, as I stated in another post, we know he's a jack***. He's not winning any humanitarian awards here. As long as he produces and doesn't tear this team apart, I'm fine with him on the team.

I had no problem with anything Woody said.
I think it's funny if any ex-Cowboy commentator says anything negative about the Cowboys he gets blasted. Aikman comes to mind.
I like Irvin,Aikman,Woody and Moose. But Irvin is a all-time homer in his opinions and the rest of those guys are more realistic.
During the game I am more of the mind-set of Irvin.
The rest of the week I come back to earth.

Damage is done, TO will probably apologize again and receive a fine from the league, opposng fans will probably try to spit on him as well if they don't already. Romanowski survived and he was far more vicious a psychotic than TO.

"that never happens in this league" ?? Isn't John Madden that's always talking about the crap that goes on when there's a pile up on a fumble?

I give Owens credit..he didn't run away or hide or deny. He admitted it.

Go Cowboys!

I'm sorry. but this is a non-issue.

Spitting on somebody..?

Ohhhh..that's so vile..

Get real.

Who cares..?

This is b/w Owens and Hall.

Nobody knows what was said during all this conversation.

Who knows what Hall was saying on the field that provoked Owens.

Nobody was there.

Sorry, but I've spit in somebodies face once or twice in my life for BS and they deserved it.

Let try to keep things real.

All this chivalry BS is just that.

This is playoff time and I for one am glad to see OWens on this team.

He's got backbone, he tough as nails and he's a winner.

Yes, he's tightly wound and often springs for no reason.

But when I found out that he had injured his finger with the tendon problem last night during the broadcast, and that he had the choice to have surguery to end his season and not risk permanent injury to his ring finger..

or to continue playing, risking permanaent damage and remain with the team and play with pain all year..

THAT WAs IT FOLKS.

OWENS has made his statement about who he is. A team player. Period.

He's committed to the Cowboys and doing everything he can to win right now.

That's all I needed to know.

The moment I heard that, he was galvanized in my mind as being in a class of Emmitt Smith and others that would play with pain and stay no matter what.

Sorry folks.

This team needs toughness, grit and determination.

Owens is a leader on this team and times are tough right now and we need him desparately.

If we could embrace Irvin despite his drug use and whoring, if we could love Tunei and his drug death, if we could identify with Hollywood Henderson and using coke in a SB and still win, if Duane Thomas could call Landry a Plastic Man and we still go to SBs..

..then we can support Owens and get thru this and win, too.

We are always hearing about all the dirty playing during a game that happens at the bottom of a pileup after a fumble..eyes being poked, nuts being grabbed..mayhem, folks.

And we think that's OK. Right..?

Sorry. None of that is acceptable behavior anywhere except on the gridiron.

Face spitting is how many magnitudes above having your balls mashed..?

It's not. It's rather blanned if you ask me.

I've heard Madden and others talk about "the heat of battle stuff'" over and over again and we've been told to accept it and move on.

Owens said it was exactly that. He apologized and then said he wanted to move on.

So if anybody has a problem with this whole thing, I think they should take it up with Madden and his 'heat of battle' doctrine.

Me..?

I'm moving on.

And so should every Cowboys fan.

Yes..

.. he got into Halls head and won his matchup and made his statement on the field about who was the better player and who was not going to take any crap.

I only wish we'd have 10 more like him.

He's a winner and he has a totally burning desire to be the best no matter what. His way isn't always the squeaky-clean-image way.

It's usually a bit more base and savage.

I can buy into it.

Owens has been thru playoffs and stretch runs and he knows you have to play more from your gut than necessarily your head at times to succeed.

It isn't always pretty and it isn't always chivalrous.

Would I have rather Owens not have spit in Halls face in order to avoid more negative publicity..?

Sure.

But Owens was pushing back and letting Hall know on no uncertain terms Owens wasn't going to be pushed around nor disrespected.

End of story.

I admire that.

This team hasn't had that ingredient of toughness and machismo in a decade.

Welcome back.

maybe he felt that rather than have a snitch talk about him to the media he'd just bring the firestorm onto himself.

the media's gonna overreact just like they did w/ Randy Moss's "mooning" incident. Who knows what Hall was saying. Maybe he said something about his kid Terique or his OD and it struck a nerve.

Has Terrell Owens ever done anything like that before? No, so I think that he had to have had a pretty damn good reason (to him) to do it. It's not like he's Romanowski, a guy known for having a dirty streak on the field.

I'd at least wait and give Owens the opportunity to explain the situation

Go Cowboys!

Double spacing aside, I agree. There are far worse things than spitting, this should not be a big deal at all IMO. It is probably deserving of a fine, and then we move on.

outstanding--you hit it right on the head--it was one punk speaking to another punk in the only way he understood.
I am just wondering if the spit was like a nice thick one or was it just spray?
