DALLAS — Ex-Cowboy fullback and NFL on FOX analyst Daryl Johnston says he would like to
see Greg Hardy get involved in the Dallas-Fort Worth community in thwarting domestic
violence.

“I’d love to see Greg Hardy get involved with some of the organizations here locally,”
Johnston said. “There’s some great organizations when you talk about domestic violence
that he could be a spokesman for. There’s a number of them that would really, really kind
of send a good message, not only to other players in the NFL, but other men who are
struggling with that issue.”

I'm not going to get into whether or not Greg Hardy is guilty of what he was accused of was and is being punished for, but I will say that Daryl Johnston is guilty of a common mistake which is assuming that these groups and these women would want someone involved that has a history of domestic violence. That's often the last thing that they want...

But............what if he truly is innocent and the whole night played out exactly like he said when he called the cops?

This guy doesn't have any sort of history doing this stuff.

Imagine how frustrated you would feel if everyone felt they needed to chime in on what you should do about your domestic violence problem if you really were innocent. He is in a difficult situation because if he starts doing volunteer work or becoming a spokesperson against domestic violence then people will say he is admitting to guilt.

All of the people speaking out about him and the league accusing him of this just shows how everyone just automatically doesn't believe a man when he is accused of domestic violence. No innocent until proven guilty these days.

if it is male vs female it is PC to believe only the female. You look at the history of Hardy's accuser and if she were a man no one would have ever given her 'testimony' any credence at all.

Poor rich, large, famous male men. What a burden they must shoulder being targeted by women who duped them into believing the sex was free and the relationship came with unattached strings. But she said all she wanted was a "good time."

To a degree I will agree, but a lot of these men are given more money then they have the sense for.

Hardy should stay away from anything involving DV. If he does as Moose says, some would take it as if he admits guilt. If he doesn't, some will say that he is avoiding the issue......it is a no-win for him to get involved.

Also, if he all of a sudden speaks up for abuse, would he sound sincere or more like forced to?

Should guys busted for drugs all of a sudden go speak to schools about drug abuse? Would they be taken seriously?

I don't know the answers but he should lay low, guilty or not.

True dat.

The NFL holds a rookie symposium every year and includes the topic of gold diggers and women out to get your money. And every year, guys either skip out or fall asleep. But to whom much is given, much is required.

And just as athletes benefit in such a way that the average person doesn't when it comes to the positive they do with their platform and the opportunities afforded them, they also suffer in a greater degree than the average person when they do something wrong or make questionable decisions.

And if you live in such a way that invites people to question your judgment, then don't be surprised when they reach conclusion in keeping with how you represent yourself.

Did Moose advise Michael to speak at Narcotics Anon? I can't remember him speaking out against his teammate.

Teammate is the operative word. Moose is a television football commentator and analyst. He's paid to give his opinions about games and what goes on in football in general based on his knowledge of the game; whereas when he was a teammate, he was paid to play football. Different roles, different responsibilities.

Well, it was sarcasm based on the tenor and tone of the apologists. Be that as it may, to those who understand it, it's on point. You don't so I can understand you not getting it.

If he didn't do what he is accused of then he is the victim, just like LCollins.

Sorry if that violates some kind of man code, but just because he is big and rich it doesn't mean he can't be taken advantage of.

No, not quite.
First Collins was never charged; Hardy was.
Second, we don't know if Hardy didn't do what he is accused of. All we know is that there was not enough evidence to proceed with a case (oh, and that other part of the girlfriend settling the case and disappearing). But that does not mean he isn't accused of doing what he did. Many cases never reach the court because there's not enough evidence to bring it to trial. But that doesn't mean the suspect didn't commit the crime.
Third, the league is moving ahead to punish him based on the photos it examined. You haven't seen those photos, I haven't seen those photos. But, apparently, the NFL has. I guess it remains to be seen what they actually reveal.

Oh, he can be taken advantage of. Then again, people who exercise bad judgment often are taken advantage of. And sometimes, it's because they become irresponsible in their decision-making.

Nothing I've seen or read has shown otherwise
