Give the guy some credit. So many Dat haters. The guy has made some plays this year. That sack on Monday night that put the Commanders out of FG position. That screen pass stuff behind the line that could have turned into a big play. Of course the INT in the 49ers game, but I could have caught a ball that was tipped to me. Don't forget some of the tip passes he has made this year.

So how's Bradie and Al doing? Those so called "big" linebackers...

Don't let HollyWood "I'm Zimmer's secret admirer" Henderson see this post.

I will say Dat is IMO thee single most underrated player on the roster...and one of the most underrated in the NFL PERIOD!

For those of you that love the size and dimensions of 6'3 245 LB and that is all that can play on a BP defense... you're blind!

Well I agree the guy plays his heart out and has since the day he put on the Cowboys helmet. He can never be what he isn't (6'3" and 250#) but what he can do is play at 100% for 60 minutes and he does that every game........

I agree. IMO, Dat is the best LBer on the team right now. He is playing well.

He has "been in the right place at the right time" for some good plays this year...
At times...

Moose noted during the mobby whiners game he has missed a lot of tackles in the past, but did compliment him on his plays this year to date.

But he is on the field for EVERY play on D as far as I have seen so far...So not many good plays on a "play per average"

I think he can be very effective as a nickle backer if someone else blitzes, because lets face it, we all know he can't over power anyone, as Tiki Barber did over power him quite easily...

He is also often swamped in the run game, I have seen him on the bottom of the pile on several plays..

He is what he is... A good instinctive player, but one who is very short, with very short arms, and that causes him to miss tackles at times, be less effective in the run game and lacks the ability to disengage from blockers, He also doesn't "deliver a hurtful tackle" and lacks overall speed...If he is Kept free, he can and has made some plays (Who couldn't) I think he wears down as the seasons pass, but time will tell this year.
I wish him & the Cowboys nothing but the best of course.

I think our base D would excell with the Lbers as Ware, James, Fugy outside and Burnett taking over inside on the just past 30 year old Dat "The gnat" :D
Burnett could be that impact player who could attack from the inside and not only run down a McChunky soup, but put a HURT on him...
I have seen too many times where Dat couldn't even touch McChunk in the open field, we need McChunk KILLERS on the field more often!

Did anyone see what knocked him almost out last game?
He was only out one play I beleive...

I never saw a replay, he did fight through it and we did as a team...

I just don't think he will last the year playing inside every down...& every nickle pkg..

I would like to see Burnett get some more PT as he is a better athlete and has much better big play ability...

Hi all my 1st post on this great forums! and I agree on this, if all our players and coaches give us their 100% all the time all the game, we'll be fine. It doesnt matter how many plays you play, but it matters how do you play those plays.

Exactly what I was trying to argue when people say Dat is small and these other guys are big. I point out that Dat is heavier then these bigger linebackers. But the height makes the player bigger I guess.

Dat is a thorn in the skins side, I hoped Parcells would have cut him so the Danny could sign him.........

Dat benches over 500 lbs so he never has been really overpowered by any opponent. He's fast, smart, a GREAT tackler and sheds blocks like crackhenderson sheds the po-po.
