Irving left practice after the Washington game with an ankle sprain. Although he was carted off the field, the initial diagnosis had reported the sprain to be on the mild side of the scale – sighs of relief abound. Ankle sprains can take from two weeks up to eight weeks before a player is ready to return. He passed the eight-week threshold against Indianapolis on Sunday.

Within that time frame, and with the caveat that a recovery is different for everyone, many players are already back to practice, working on resistance cords and often going through scout team work for up to a couple weeks before making it back to the big club.

Irving has, reportedly, not been around. He reportedly hasn’t been attending meetings. He reportedly hasn’t been rehabbing with the club. There are possible explanations for the latter, such as rehabbing with his own trainers, which are perfectly acceptable. It doesn’t account for not showing up to The Star.

Give Irving what he wants. Cut him already. Just take the loss. He obviously doesn't want to play, nor has he any respect for Jerry, the coaches, organization or the team.

    Enough with the excuses.

I'm trying Ringo, I'm trying real hard...
But when you're under contract and can't rehab or go to meetings with the team...
It makes it real hard to be the Good Shepherd.

Dang I was hoping he would pull it together. No internal motivation to play the game any more, I hope he finds that fire again somewhere down the line because he can be dominate.

U mean the cowboys wire article on USA Today? It was written by KD Drummond. He’s been around awhile

Plus Clarence hill and Calvin Watkins are saying the same thing

No matter, he's just 1 guy out of 53. Ditch him and find someone that has a bit of passion.

LOL I just asked this question in another thread if anyone knew if he was even showing up! i guess I got my answer!.
I really dont know what truly is is situation so I cant judge. Clearly though there is more here then just the injury and his daughter. He himself needs to get his life in order.

I don't need a Twitter account to tell me Irving has done nothing this season.

Irving seems to act like someone who wants to play for another team.

Either that, or he simply lost the desire to play pro football any longer.

    Be patient.

You are free, however, to type about your disappointing feelings toward Irving, but that’s it. After that be patient because it’s your only choice. He’s a good player and will get plenty of chances to play.

He has lost his passion for the game like the purple drinker, it's a shame because both had the ability but no desire.
